WHY I CAN NOT VOTE FOR GIULIANI
TownHall.com ^ | 4.10.2007 | Kevin McCullough

Posted on 04/11/2007 1:25:54 PM PDT by jodiluvshoes

Mayor Giuliani had to know this was coming. He's enjoyed a great window of "benefit of the doubt" time with conservatives for a few months now. But liberal Rudy is starting to show - and its just not pretty. There is a lot of time even now for the primary process to work its magic and I just increasingly am realizing that I can not - as a faithful, life long conservative vote for the former Mayor of my city.

And don't talk to me about the general election and "Hillary vs. whoever" yet - THAT will be a different election. Right now we are watching the primary race. This should be the time where we hassle these wannabes as much as possible so that we get to the essence of who they are.

The mayor's supporters want to talk about his toughness on terror. Which is fine. Given his record against crime in NYC, I think they may have a point. But I want a President who will also be tough against liberalism. I want a President who will stand up to Congress. I want a President to be tough about the types of judges he puts on the bench. I want a man of tough resilient character who deals with his domestic agenda and treats people with all that character entails.

Maybe we should wait until we have a nominee before we start bad mouthing everyone. There will be plenty of time to bad mouth once we have a nominee, why waste your effort now?

I couldn’t vote for Rudy because of the way he’s treated his wives. He commited so much adultery, he made Clinton look like John the Baptist.

hahhhaha... don’t befuddle these folks with facts yet.

Whoever the R nominee is, unless its an absolute joke, like an R equivalent of a John Kerry, I will vote for. Yes, this includes the G Man, if he’s the nominee I will indeed vote for him.

No I don’t see eye to eye with him on everything, but I know damned well he’d call Pelosi for violate the Logan Act as she has done... and won’t allow the dems to snatch surrender from the jaws of victory.

Primaries will show who’s got metal and who doesn’t, and when they are done we’ll see which causes die hards are willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces... because no matter who the nominee is there is going to be someone, somewhere claiming they aren’t conservative enough, or have the wrong stand on this or that so they can’t vote for em...

Till then, its going to be a rather enjoyable ride to watch.

I will not vote for him for any office. He is not the man I want in the office of President. The more that comes out about him tells me I made the correct choice.

That's fine for the Primaries, but come November 2008 and it's Hillary against Giuliani, or Romney, or McCain, or whoever, I will vote against Hillary.

Yea, Rudy’s women have turned up dead in graveyards with bullet holes to the back of their heads, or accused him of rape......

Please, comparing Rudy to Bubba is a stretch beyond belief.

If Rudy is the Republican nominee and Hildabeast is the dim's nominee, I guess the author will vote for the Hildabeast/Hussein Obama ticket? If he abstains from voting at all, he is in effect voting for the dims.

Having said that, "Fred Thompson for President".

Because, if you'd read the article, you'd understand Kevin's point that NOW is the time to "badmouth", or hassle, as he puts it, the candidates, to find out who they truly are under all the shine.

Maybe because we want to make sure the eventual nominee isn’t someone who’ll split the Republican Party in twain.

Because if Rudy becomes the nominee, imagine how bad he’ll look once the Democrat-backing MSM gets done with him.

I can’t help but feel we’re being manipulated by the MSM and ‘the polls’ to nominate Rudy. They’ve not reported much on his negatives so far. They want us to nominate him, so they can then attack him and take him down, just like they did when he ran against Hillary for the senate. I remember how they drove him to withdraw from that race, and I have no doubt they’ll savage him again, but only if he wins the nomination, not before.

The country could do a lot worse than having Rudy as president.

But the Republican Party can do much better than having Rudy as nominee.

I agree. As a conservative, I will not be hoodwinked by a liberal, and will not support them.
