The big difference is that Thompason says he’s solidly prolife now. He has come around.

How’s Rudy doing on that one?

Hey, 5 or 6 years ago I didn’t think that illegal immigration was such a big deal .

I’ll give Fred some slack.

Does that work for Romney too?

You gotta love this, a Rudy fan trying to put a wedge against another candidate by using abortion.

I think I smell fear.

Given the choice, I'll take Thompson in a New York second.

He has come around.

You are too naive if you believe this. Most politicians believe abortion should be kept out of politics, with a few exceptions. They HATE the issue. I agree with them. I don’t like Roe v Wade. Get the Federal Govt out of the issue and work on keeping our country sovereign

The only issue Thompson ever got excited by in the Senate was the McCain/Feingold bill. He was tepid about pro-life. How much confidence would you have that he would nominate strict constructionists if elected? Rudy, on the other hand, despite his rhetoric, has said over and over he would nominate strict constructionists in the mold of Roberts and Alito.

"The big difference is that Thompason says he’s solidly prolife now. He has come around."

did you read the link to the rest of the article? am i missing something here?? he SAYS it is up to the woman!?

romney and thompson are in the same field, IMHO. they both were pro-choice and are now trying to give the impression they are pro-life. sounds like wolf-in-sheep's clothing to me. i wouldn't trust either of them to have a backbone and make wise moral choices for a country. romney thought that he was going to clinch the deal getting someone from NRTL to endorse or support him. NRTL hasn't exactly been forthcoming in backing the real abortion ban bills, either. so, where does that put them? romney was hoping it would hook more votes? (considering the mentality of the average voter, it may have.) thompson's veiw on it being the woman/s choice??? sounds like a way to hook liberal votes and be a sqwish if you are really pro-life. where would the civil rights be today if they had had that attitude toward civil rights and slavery??!!! he is liberal, like mccain and gulianni, wearing the republican sticker that is easily removed at their earliest convenience. BEWARE!

He is apparently still a pro-choice true believer, and also hasn't learned anything about the 2nd Amendment. I loved him as my mayor. But I cannot support him at this time.
