“It might “seem” more humanitarian and sensible to negotiate for hostages in each case, but every time we do, it leads to more incidents.”

And that’s when the choice becomes, bottom-line...

WHO IS BETTER?

Who is better to leave alive? Who is worse and thus is not a great loss to be dead?

All this haranguing by liberals about “how many killed” is ultimately useless, as the real question is “how many GOOD GUYS killed?”

Whatever preserves more GOOD GUYS, that’s the choice.

If it means killing thousands of BAD guys, so what.

The sad thing is, liberals are faced with a tough question. They don’t like to think of us as good guys.

Sad, ain’t it? Being surrounded by liberals?

They put the straitjacket on you (indeed, that’s 1 of their favorite things, saving you from yourself).

Do you think most people (not the government, or media, per se) are going to complain that Britain should “pull out”? Or are they going to demand “retribution”?

My vote/bet is on the former. Just as it tends to be here.

Somwhere in the middle. Most already favour surrender on Iraq, and as for anger toward iran, it’s probably about 50/50 in reality.

In terms of perhaps getting us on board to deal with iran militarily, this might have helped make the case. It’s a shame it took this to achieve that however.

That’s the way it always is.

Look at the person whose tag said “it’ll take 50k dead Americans to wake up the Dem’s”. And it’s really true. Even 3000 dead within 1 hour isn’t enough to anger the Dem’s here for more than 2 months.

Met a lot of Peace Corp Commies is SEA. Never met one I’d trust with the welfare of our nation. Most of them were just left wing dopers.

Add a medical degree or RN degree to that profile, and you have a typical profile of the left wing do gooder American medical missionaries.

I imagine that our Congress will capitulate and offer Hugo tons of “aid.”

I guess he figures that if Iran gets away with it, why not him.

I don’t go to 7/11. they can go get effed.

I hope Hugo dies, painfully in a fire while firefighters do nothing but applaud.

"Because he knows that the Republicans are *****whipped by the girlymen and women in the Demoncrap party.

What's he got to fear?"

You've got that right!

I realize these people are more than likely nothing but "do gooders," but I certainly would not have any problem if the state dep't started issuing instructions with passports telling US citizens that if they go to "unfriendly" places like Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, N. Korea, etc., don't expect any help from the gov't in the event someone snatches you. After all, since both parties are *****whipped, it's a simple statement of fact. (This is not exactly the same country that it was when Reagan sent the military into Grenada for US MD students.)

Wonder what will happen in Venezuela when Hugo makes the foreign oil field workers that he has told NOT to leave even though he's sending the military in to assist the transition to grabbing the fields from the foreign companies, "guests" of the state, or hostages?

“it’ll take 50k dead Americans to wake up the Dem’s”.

Going to take way more than that to wake them up imo. Perhaps, 500,000 and then only if they are Dem voters in 10 different cities where it would endanger the outcome of the next election.

So it looks like this story is just myth? I never ever heard anything about it outside this thread.
