........CONTROVERSIAL PRINCIPAL 'RETIRING'...WILL SHE SMEAR YORK?........Dr. Joyce Royster says she will retire from her position as principal of the alternative school for "troubled students" in the York City School District. Royster is complaining that she didn't have enough people to run the school........Royster says that later this year she may write a book about being an administrator in York City schools noting that the district has a problem with what she describes as an "outspoken, forward looking administrator".........Next Royster went to Hannah Penn Middle School. One day after school students argued in the hallway and Royster is said to have told them to take it outside. They did and a major fight involving dozens of students broke out. Police were called, pepper spray used and arrests made. Parents were angered by the incident and blamed Royster.........Then there's her husband Edward Fullum......He was charged with inappropriate sexual behavior towards students in his middle school gym classes. He was acquitted last year.........after his acquittal Joyce Royster described York as a racist, redneck, backward community. Then in January this year Fullum was charged with touching the genitals of a seven-year old girl in his home. That case is still pending at last word..........
SEX DISEASE TESTING PUSHED FOR YORK HIGH STUDENTS..........Moroney is reported by the "York Dispatch" as saying he knows that students are having unprotected sex and that it is "long overdue" for chlamydia testing to take place in the school......The program involves a presentation about the dangerous effects of the disease and giving students brown bags with urine sample cups. The students are then asked to give an optional urine sample but to stay in the bathroom long enough so that who gave isn't obvious.....Now there's word that parents are upset they are being left out of the picture with Dr. Hawk and others pointing out that parental consent isn't required for sex disease testing or treatment........
THE DEAL IS DONE.........
Last night's Central York School Board vote was 6-3 in favor of a fact finder report on the teacher contract dispute. Word is that pay increases under the deal will average 5.38 per cent a year over the four years of the deal. That's more than 20 percent pay increases with over 7 percent likely in the first year (retroactive to last July 1st)............
Perhaps you could format it better, so it's not so hard on the eyes.
