As a slogan short cut used by those in the west that take seriously Islamists actions and words as such of forcing to convert non Muslims or face death.
In the global war on terror, the phenomenon of forced conversion, Islamization goal by Jihadists, is a fundamental part, just as bin Laden wants to restore an Islamic caliphate[1], as well as radical Islamists as a whole, their ultimate goal of is not to secure westerners' withdrawal from Afghanistan or Iraq, or even only to destroy Israel, but to reestablish the caliphate and the rule of Sharia [2].
Hence, radicals are basically giving nothing but two choices [3]:
'Convert or Die!' the ultimatum call/order by Islamic extremists be it on a general level: [4] Video: Al Qaeda tells U.S. to convert or die.
Nor is it limited to Iraq,Israel, it effects all of the middle east.[5].
A writer asks Where the Leaders Against radical Muslim Violence are? on Militants' ideology that one must convert or die. [6]
Or on a specific ethnic or religious group like the Mandaeans in Iraq that face exitintion & genocide & were basically given the choice by Sunni & Shia: 'Convert or die!'. [7]
Or on an individual level, one of the more famous examples are the two journalists Centanni & Wiig kidnapped by Islamic Palestinians' Holy Jihad Brigades & were forced to convert to Islam at gun point.[8] [9] J. Glazov writes that it is embedded within Islam [10].
Tony Nassif writes that Al Qaeda's: 'Convert or Die' is consistent with an historic Islamic sect regarding attitudes toward non-Muslims, or "infidels". [11]
Some writers refer to it as a rise among Muslims to a Jihad mandate of world domination [12]
ISIS writes about of Convert or die historic in Islam . [13]
Though it is a form of forced conversion it already became notable for it's harsh clear cut call & it's actuality, not mere as something that happend in the past but as a current event.
An integral part of Radical Islam such as demonstrated by Islamic republic of Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, [14] tells the West to convert to Islam or die.
