One of the major mysteries of our time is the silence of the AFLCIO on this subject. Have they been paid off?
---IMHO, the union plan is (after total Demo control in 2008), repeal right-to-work, etc., and then unionize virtually everybody---illegal felonious "immigrants" would be a great source of union dues--
It may be 'selective reporting'. Of course our old media would never do such a thing!
Any word from teamsters????.
Nothing will be done until there are some major accidents. Even then, they will give a like warm response.<p.It is frustrating to read these almost dail threads. We are on a downhill slide with Islam, Iran, Mexico and there is nothing being done but making the problem bigger.
It's bad enough, but he doesn't mention the amount of illegal drugs that will be trucked in.Now,they have to stop at 70 miles of the border,I think.Just think, those Mexican drug cartels can ship ALL across the US after this.
Anyone who's been around the port area at Los Angeles/Long Beach will tell you that the Mexican trucks are already here in the U.S. -- with their Mexican drivers driving uninsured, unsafe vehicles. We just call them "undocumented workers" and look the other way while they occupy the lowest rung in the trucking industry -- carrying containers in and out of our ports, carrying municipal waste from transfer stations to landfills, etc. They do this for an average wage that computes to about $30,000/year -- for an average 55-hour work week.
The Teamsters have been trying to organize these drivers for some time, but umbrella organizations like the AFL-CIO don't consider them a major priority. The reason for it is that by screwing these truckers this way, the transportation sector of our economy can pay longshoremen to the tune of $80,000 to $150,000 per year at our ports.
It's really the same rationale used by the UAW when they allow auto parts manufacturing to be outsourced to Mexico just so unionized assembly-line workers can be paid exorbitant wages.

Every alien smuggled in will be a vote for the left's candidates. The AFLCIO Oppose this? heck, this is base building . ;-)
A google search of unions and Mexican trucks seems to indicate that the unions are mostly opposed.
Perhaps this is a way to break the unions strangle hold on the US. Simply point out to their constituents the ineffectiveness of the Unions in protecting their jobs.
When you mix dirty water with clean water, you get dirty water.
"Merging" the US and Mexico (and of course, Canada), will do nothing to improve anything for ordinary citizens.
I caught Hoffa screaming about it a couple of days ago, he didn't sound happy at all. I am surprised he hasn't been seen more about this, I wonder why that is.
15% of trucks being union isn't exactly a stranglehold.
There is something very wrong with our Government.
How much are you willing to continue accept?
Glenn Beck had Jimmy Hoffa on his TV show when this was announced. I gave me an uneasy feeling being in agreement with the Teamsters.
