I was pointing out the blog says "twice" the energy - it's waaaay more than that, and the link is the source. But you neglected to note that the blog says "twice the electricity IN ONE MONTH that the average household does IN AN ENTIRE YEAR". (emphasis added) Sometimes it helps if you don't stop quoting at one word.

>>>I'm not sure I'd call it a downplay<<<
Thanks for pointing that out...saved me the trouble.
Specifically; Al Gore's mansion and pool house and garages use about 20,000kwh per month. The average American houshold uses about 1/2 that, or 10,000kwh, per year!!

What I was pointing out with "downplay" is the verbiage of the statement
"uses more than twice the electricity in one month than the average household does in an entire year" as opposed to the statement used in the rest of the stories posted as
"uses 20 times the amount of energy the average home uses in a month" When you read it, which sounds larger to you?
Do you pay your electricity bill yearly?

Just what are "carbon offsets?"Al Gore claims he buys "credits" agains the amount of CO2 he spews.
For argument's case, I have a factory that is in compliance with the EPA and voluntarily reduce my CO2 emissions. I can "sell" my lower CO2 emmissions to company's who have higher CO2 emissions (rather then them installing new high cost control processes).
Hypothetically, both businesses are in compliance then.
There is a market for these credits. I'd like to see Al's canceled checks for those he claims he buys due to his mansion's CO2 "foot print".

If you have problems spelling hypocrite, just use the word "liberal". They are interchangeable terms.
