Political conservatives are the 'base' of the R party that gave them the 'Contract with America' win. If the 'Social Conservatives' who want govt control of social, personal issues like this are taking over the R party, then the R party doesn't stand a chance of winning in 08.

THAT, is quite good. The prospect of the government being in control of personal issues is a bit scary given the history of some countries during the last century.

When I read that on the other thread, I thought described what I have been saying for sometime but much stronger. It is scarey and that is exactly what these people want.

Here in OK, some of the Republican State Reps wanted to tell the OKC Library where to place gay books on the shelves. That to me was a community problem not something I want our elected Reps to do.
