Bouffants, Chubby Checker, kneesocks, the twist ...
Memories: pleated wool skirts, cheerleading at football games, watching Ed Sullivan every Sunday, pixie haircut. First car - gas hog black Ford Fairlane convertible, 2nd car: VW Bug. On the phone for hours with girlfriends, endless fights with my Mom for *months*: why CAN'T I shave my legs?? I still have my diary with the pitiful whining.. LOL.

I also remember when you could burn leaves in your yard.

Wasn't alive during the sixties, but have studied it intensively during history courses...
A few things that (IMHO) are important when studying the 60's...
-Vatican II
-Cuban Missile Crisis
-Assassination of JFK
-Gulf of Tonkin Incident/Escalation in Vietnam
-Humanae Vitae (On Human Life; encyclical by Pope Paul VI)
-Tet Offensive, effect on American public
-Apollo 11 landing on the Moon.
-Woodstock

What a great link! I was 13 in 1960 and lived through the flushing of our society down the toilet!

The opening graphic says the Big Mac cost .28 cents in 1960. McDonald's did not introduce the Big Mac until 1968.
Hate to be picky because I love these "remember when?" videos. Love the music...
