Does this indicate a possible diversion between "Iraqi" national strategy and U.S. strategy and change of R.O.E. as enumerated by President Bush in his Wenesday speech? Could it truly be that the President took Maliki to the woodshed and told him in no uncertain terms U.S. interests in the region will trump "Iraqi" interests?

I have always thought about a comparison between the Aum movement in Japan and alqueda wouldn't be too far off. I do think it's quite possible alqueda was, actually as originally founded, a cult that used a false identification with islam for propaganda purposes. The "charter" membership was of a higher social class, which is a hallmark of cults.
