A very troubling report has been published by Middle East Newsline:
The Bush administration has blocked arms and technology transfers to Israel.
Israeli and U.S. sources said the State Department has blocked the transfer of weapons and technology to the Jewish state over the last three months. The sources said the halt reflected deteriorating relations between the two countries since the end of the war in Lebanon in August 2006.
Nobody will say openly that there is a problem, a government source said. But there is a serious problem that reflects the marginalization of Israel in U.S. strategy.
The unofficial suspension of U.S. arms deliveries began in late September, the sources said. They said the suspension halted the airlift of air-to-ground and other munitions conducted during and immediately after the Israeli war with Hizbullah.

I don't understand this report. We shielded Israel diplomatically during the war to give them enough time to destroy Hizbollah. We were in favor of the war. Is this article saying we are angry because Israel did not take full advantage of the diplomatic window we gave them?
Things like this make me like Bush less and less every day. Bush makes the excellent point that the liberals don't understand the nature of the conflict with Islam--and he's right. The problem is that he doesn't understand it either.
For some reason, I just don't believe anything in this article.....I think I will wait for more information....
Why are you posting tenth rate "hearsay" with "unnamed" sources as news? Knock it off!
Those who bless Israel will be blessed, those who curse Israel will be cursed. Gen 12:3
What in the name of whatever are you talking about?????
Better get some coffee.....
Things like people who accept reports from sites that are not reputable makes me question them.
Sorry HL...
I meant to post my comment to FReeper
euphoriadev. I actually agree with you.
Second cup brewing.

And that somehow equates to the US cutting off the weapons pipeline to ISrael? The US has said we will not accept a Palestinian state at the sake of Israel's security.
...but what you read in the papers, on tv and some magazines are simply put to look bad for President Bush...I still stand on what I said....I will wait for more acturate information....
I understand...:0) top of the mornin to ya....
I believe thats the purpose of this article, not its truth, but its inference. I never heard of any of these sources at the link site, except for LGF, and they dont say anything of the sort.
... and the rest of the day to you.

Perhaps I was hasty, but, whether true or not, it is quite believable. Especially as one of Bush's goals has been a Palestinian state (Bush renews Palestinian state vow, plus many more) as evidenced by the "Roadmap" at the beginning of his presidency. Bush has not been pro-Israel. He has not been anti-Israel, either. He has been sort of wishy washy, as always. He has not been consistent with the "if you support a terrorist, you're as bad as a terrorist" line, either as he has been in favor of funding the PA.
I question the sanity of Bush-bots.
AHh the tried and true reaction to those whom the anti-Bush everything crowd deem to be unenlightend-Bush-Bot, yep way to win an argument. Maybe next time we can have a civilized discussion with facts.
Israel can dam well get its act together and then we can support them all the more, as we have been all along. Olmert is set to literally give away the farm. Israelis must replace him... and quickly!!
Take it with a grain of salt.
Our government is always allowing false reports to be published.
If I were guessing and, only guessing, I would think in reality, it's just the contrary to this report.
There is no way the United States will brake ties with Israel anytime soon. there is just too much at stake in the Middle East presently for this to happen.
Yes the President would like a Palenstine state, BUT he isn't going to abandon the Israelis in doing it....best to still sit back and wait for more information before forming an opinion...
