Maybe he's just being trotted out to see where the early criticism come from so that opposition research or infiltration (the GOP was infiltrated in 2004, including some who wrote articles on their actions) can begin.
The Swiftboat Veterans were targeted with "opposition research" and their claims were attacked although not disproven. Blame the messenger, so to speak.
Maybe they just want to ID the players while there is time to do background research on us.
