On Dec. 15, N. Korea urged Japan to explain the disappearance of a N. Korean linguist, which they
claimed to have occurred 15 years ago.
N. Korean news agency KCNA claimed that Kim Tae-young, a senior academic at Kim Hyong-jik Teacher's
College went missing in Sakhalin, but later sent a letter (to N. Korea) revealing that he is in Japan.
KCNA maintained, "Our Red Cross requested an investigation into the whereabout of Kim Tae-young on May
2nd(, 2006), but only received only insincere response, saying, 'Can't locate him.' Japanese behavior is
not acceptable in terms of basic humanitarian concerns nor helps the improvement of bilateral relations
between the two countries."
It went to say, "We regard this incident as the grave infringement of N. Korean sovereignty, in which
our able linguist was apparently kidnapped by Japanese. We demanded that Japanese get to the bottom of this
incident and his family's desire to meet him could be accomplished as soon as possible."
Does this mean that S. Korea also kidnapped almost 10,000 N. Koreans who escaped or defected from N. Korea?
N. Korea may even accuse U.S. of kidnapping its citizens, some of whom are pretty high-level figures.
Ping!
The report failed to mention than he was a cunning linguist.
OHHH JETTTT
