DUmmie FUnnies NOT Chosen As 2006 Weblog Awards Finalist & I'm Completely BUMMED OUT!

Okay, I didn't post a DUFU edition today because I was NERVOUSLY awaiting the announcement of finalists in the humor category of the 2006 Weblog Awards. I just found out a few minutes ago that the DUmmie FUnnies did not make the final cut. I am completely bummed out at this point because I thought I had an EXCELLENT chance of winning the award (with Freeper support) IF I had been a finalist.

Maybe I should have said I WAS completely bummed out. Right now I am slowly recuperating with a germ of an idea developing in my head about making lemonade from lemons.

Next November there is a first ever BlogWorld CONVENTION in Las Vegas. A lot of stuff sounds to be a bit on the corporate technical side which is fine but I think many folks out there might have the wrong idea about Blogging as some sort of super hi-tech activity. In fact, Blogging is a very INFORMAL activity. Normally I, and many other bloggers, blog clad only in a T-shirt and underpants.

So that is what I want to do. I would like to put myself on exhibit behind a glass booth at that convention like a zoo animal clad only in my T-shirt and underpants while fortified with constantly flowing coffee. I definitely intend to make the Blogger "zoo animal" very entertaining.

So I didn't get into the finals of the Weblog Awards but I now definitely want to go to that BlogWorld convention as a Blogger Zoo Exhibit. Do any of my many PINGEES out there have a conndection with BlogWorld? If so, please pass this idea along to them. Thanx.

Okay, I'm STILL bummed out but feeling slightly better now.... Only slightly.

That article made it sound like the BlogWorld convention already happened. It didn't. It is scheduled for NEXT November. Here is a more accurate ARTICLE about next year's BlogWorld convention.

There will be booths there for corporate sponsors. Don't know if they would let me get away with my idea of a "Blogger Zoo Exhibit" which is why I might need help from someone on the inside of BlogWorld.

One idea I had was if I can get into that BlogWorld convention as a Blogger Zoo Exhibit to also have myself coronated as Emperor Of All The Blogospheres while wearing a toga, crown, and surrounded by vestal virgins. Oops! This is Vegas I'm talking about so I should just settle for being surrounded by just vestals.
