I hate this city.
The reason this is allowed is because Muslims do a better job of standing up for their right to exercise religious expression.
Us Christians get steamrolled.
Does it go something like that?
Where's the ACLU when you need em?
He says they didn't do it, but here's how they didn't do it:
"Thank you for checking for the facts. No afternoon prayer session was organized by any adult or staff member. Dunlap is a Seattle Public School and as such there is a clear separation of church and state. It is the policy of Seattle School Board that no religious belief or non-belief be promoted by the School District or its employees, and none should be disparaged. We do not have a prayer policy, nor was anything kept quiet. During Ramadan, a couple of Muslim families whose children attend Dunlap contacted the school and asked for the reasonable religious accommodation of allowing their children a place to prayer during the month preceding their holiday Eide. It is my understanding that it is lawful for schools to excuse students briefly from class to enable them to fulfill their religious obligations. My further understanding is that due to safety issues it is allowable for a staff member to supervise those obligations. At Dunlap during this month, between classes, an ELL teacher supervised students for five minutes each day. This no longer happens as Ramadan is over. Yes, any family, from any religious group may request reasonable religious accommodation from any public school. I am unaware of what Aki Kurose does at their school but I assume it is a similar effort to make a religious accommodation."
let's abolish public schools and then people could not complain about this stuff and parent could take responsibtiy for the educaiton of their children and put them in schools who compete for their studetns.
Get the feeling the Christianity is being systematically exterminated to pave the way for Muslim rule? This is so outrageous!! No Christian prayers in schools but anything Islamic is OKAY.
Wake up folks and smell the jihad.
Seperation of church and state...phooey. The US is advocating athesism as a religion, and this should be addressed.
This sounds like an excellent opportunity for Christians to demand the same rights in that district. That would get the ACLU out in force and expose their hypocrisy.
Political correctness is killing us.
No God worship in schools....MOON worship is A-OKAY!
Shame on the parents who tolerate this descrimination. If they accept it without protest then they get what they deserve.
"Its refreshing to hear that religion hasnt been completely shut out of public education as long as the policy is applied fairly and evenly to students of all religions."

Ain't gonna happen. This is happening IMO because everyone is trying to show how "tolerant" they are of MUSLIM beliefs.
"It is the policy of Seattle School Board that no religious belief or non-belief be promoted by the School District or its employees, and none should be disparaged."
Funny.. that's exactly what the Constitution says too, but it seems to make little difference to the 'separation of church and state' crowd.
Any guesses on the kind of songs the kids will be singing this Christm...uh...I mean...winter holiday?
