The bidding looks phoney. Probably a couple of Sony people bidding it up for cheap publicity. Neither of the bidders had any history.

For $3600 you can get a very fast PC and all the games you could reasonably want.

Sony Playstation (PS3) sells for $3600.00 on eBay

Did the seller collect payment yet? If not, it may not have really sold.

But wait to see if the payment actually is made.

Lots of the high priced bids go unpaid. I would not be surprised if that will be the case here.

The thing is, how many will pay?

It looks tempting to run out and get one to sell, but how many actually will pay?

Something seems fishy about this guy buying all those playstations! So far, I've seen that he's bought AT LEAST 3 of them for $15,099, and another for OVER $10,000, not to mention numerous others!

I don't think he's done yet! Everytime I look, he's buying more.

Are people that stupid that they'd pay that kind of money for a DUMB game!?

How about this one? Starting bid $45K, or buy it now for $500K?

If I were Sony, I'd arrange for several eBay shill sales at outrageous prices just to feed the hype-apalooza.

Out of curiosity, I wonder why Sony didn't start out selling a Limited Edition console for $1,000 and then sell the general release for the normal price once manufacturing was up to speed? To sell goods at prices low enough to create guaranteed shortages seems strange.
