I was born in PA...just south of New York...

heh, heh....

funny thing is that most everyone thinks I sound like I was born in New York....

unless they are from New York-- then they KNOW I am from near Philly!!

strange....

I talk a bit southern sometimes too...LOL!

depends on how many drinks I have....

You don't sound like Philly/South Jersey: you sound more New York-ish. Now The Great One definitely augurs Philadelphia.

Parents from the Big Apple, perhaps? That's where most of our speech patterns come from.

If I talked to you, I'd sound slower and mumbling. Welcome to the West Coast, which is akin to something more like, say, Chicago - assuming you'd find an English speaker.

When I visited Louisville for a week they said, "you sound NORTHERN" - which, while not disparaging, was still slightly discomforting, particularly because, as you know, women down south are about 100-degrees Fahrenheit, as opposed to the 92-and-change we get up here.
