Thanks for a valiant try, PJ, but I just can't laugh this morning...even though my wife says she's going to kick my ass if I don't stop moping. Even when I thought they'd take the House for sure, I never thought it would be this bad.

The wife says this will help get a Republican elected in '08. Boy I hope so, and God, please let it not be John McCain.

Well, at least there's this...if they try impeachment, there will be a backlash from the voters. If they don't, they'll have a civil war and maybe the electorate will catch on to the inherent moonbatness of the Dems. Could be a win either way.

In April 2000 I was depressed when the government agents kidnapped Elian Gonzalez and sent him back to Cuba. However, as a result of that kidnapping, Bush NOT Gore was elected President a few months later since it tipped just enough votes against the Democrats as a result. Look at the long view. This is just an interregnum.

You know, I could understand the whole impeachment thing if they had won by huge margins, but none of these seats were won by more then a few percentage points. It would be very irresponsible for any of them to beat that drum unless they are looking to be a one termer.

Mr. Silverback -- into the top 50 like Eeyor? Say it ain't so!

Dude, it is gonna be all right! They were able to hide their true character during the campaign, but it's sorta like dating someone new. The first six months or so, both sides are trying to put their best foot (feet?) forward, but eventually, all of the warts become visible -- some sooner than others.

Chin up!
