Don't Vote

"Don't vote until you know where the candidates stand on the issues."

That's the message on the AARP website, but you have to go there to see it.

How many people have seen the commercial of the singing and dancing politician, while the voice-over tells people "don't vote" until you go to their website to learn the issues?

Yes, the campaign is about going to their website, but how many people really will do that? How many people will just get the subliminal message to "don't vote" because their politician is just playing them with a song and dance and a handshake?

Isn't this just another ploy to suppress the voter turnout on November 7?

AARP is left leaning. I would never trust them.

Yes it is, and cynical, too. AARP is one of the most liberal interest groups. It's all about gimme, gimme, gimme.

Let's hope it works! I don't want my vote mixed in with someone that could be swayed by a singing and dancing politician.

The pronunciation of the AARP acronym is appropriate.

let's see.. they don't want the military votes to be counted.. practically, they want voters to stay home until they think we are informed on the issues... Dems are really panicked.. what's next? are they gonna go around in scarecrow costumes and knock on doors hoping to cause heart attacks?

I saw this a few times tonight (Friday). AARP is buying a lot of commercial time and I too suspect that the "dont vote" web site name is intended to stick in peoples' minds and subliminally get them to stay home.

Why? Because AARP knows the majority of retirees don't agree with the agenda of AARP and the leftists. The more retirees who stay home, the better the chances of the lefty's and AARP.

GO OUT AND VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE!!!!!

I have an AARP membership solely for the travel discounts which I double with my AAA membership(participating establishments only). The AARP newsletter is n't worth the paper its printed on...and its reject newsprint from the National Enquirer.

They sent my Darling Hubbie a letter for his Big "50" two weeks before his birthday,
I have now sent them six form letters, 2 personal letters to Do not Reply/ Take us off your list etc, The Solicitations are still coming.
They are irresponsible at best. Reprehensible at least.
AARP is a gimmick for alledged discounts, better yet a fund for Socialism.

Maybe you should look at the NRA. They offer the same advantages.

Just writing 'deceased' on the form and sending it back is rumored to work. :)

Beware of that, P-40. 'Deceased' would make you a Democrat voter.

I have seen this on O'Reilly, where else are they airing the ad. I think if we find it is targeted at conservative shows, it could very well be an intentional effort to surpress the vote.

I saw this a few times tonight (Friday).

Did you see it someplace besides Fox News. It would be interesting to know what audience they are targeting.

They are running it every ten minutes and I got more and more steamed about it tonight. I was wondering who to complain to. They have probably targeted FOX News and bought it locally here in S FL.

Yeah, I think they target conservative audiences to surpress the vote. Look at the nonsense they have on their website. It has nothing to do with the issues, but smears.

As far as I have seen, these commercials are put only on conservative shows.
