Call to Action: Google-Bombing the Election (starts Oct 24th..beware)
MyDD ^ | 10-24-06 | MyDD

Posted on 10/24/2006 9:14:11 AM PDT by Chicos_Bail_Bonds

What The utilization of Google Adwords and simultaneous, widespread embedded hyperlinks in order to drive as many voters as possible toward the most damning, non-partisan article written on the Republican candidates in seventy key US Senate and House races. The campaign will run from Tuesday, October 24th until Tuesday, November 7th.

Why According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, the number one way that voters use the Internet for political action is to search for information on candidates. During the final two weeks of the election, it is reasonable to expect that as many as twenty million voters will be searching for information on candidates online. During this key time, this project will help push the most negative article written by a non-partisan media source on all key Republican candidates to the forefront of any search for that candidate. The negative article will appear both high on all Google searches for the candidates, and as an advertisement that appears whenever anyone searches for that candidate. By giving this article two prominent locations on Google searches for the candidate, and because it will come from a non-partisan source, it will increase the likelihood that the article will be seen and trusted by those searching for information on the candidate.

How The campaign will proceed as follows:

* Step One: With help form readers at Dailykos and MyDD, I will compile a list of seventy articles, one for each targeted race. Every article will focus on a different Republican candidate, and will be written by as generally trusted a news source as possible. It will also present as unflattering a view on the Republican candidate as possible. All of these articles will be placed into a database that I will maintain with the help of willing volunteers...

These guys are such ass hats. This is the same Kos Kidz Krowd that thinks they are kingmakers. Look at their past record!

And their greatest triumphant to date? Forcing Lieberman to kick Lamont's ass as an independent.

Google bombing as an election strategy? Give me a friggin break. I'll take GOP GOTV professional efforts any day over the Nutroots.

As I understand it, there is no defense to a Google bomb. On the other hand, a good offense can beat a good defense. The conservatives have some able computer gurus of their own. Why not Google bomb the vulnerable Democrats? Harry (the million-dollar-man) Reid comes to mind. So does Nancy (she-who-cannot-blink) Pelosi.

What about it?

"Can we fight fire with fire and do the same with the Dem candidates?"

That was my thought last week on the subject. The Dim's already control the Lamestream Media, and now are doing the same to the Internet. Coupled with control of PBS, the propoganda is so pervasive and the average populace so gullible, they depend on sources we KNOW are set to divert them to the (D) lever.

How many average voters actually google candidates?

I would say less than 1% and I would bet 75% of them are LW moonbats. I hope the nutroots waste their energy.

Great, how about a bogus clickthrough campaign to bankrupt BlogPac?

Hundreds of not-nutroots volunteers could spend a few hours clicking on the links to these "trustable, non-partisan but negative" articles, leaving BlogPac with a nice juicy credit card bill to pay.

The faster such a program goes into action, the faster the nutroots will max out their credit card accounts and be shut off by Google.

"As I understand it, there is no defense to a Google bomb."

There is if you link it to an Adwords campaign.

You simply click the Adwords link so many times that you run up the advertising tab in no time at all.
