We're supposed to be the ones with principles. If the best we can say about our candidates is "Well, the other guy is worse", then we have lost our way.

You have (probably unintentionally) put up a straw man here. The position of people like me is more like "We have a choice between a party that is not conservative enough and the party of treason and child murder."
If you are willing, through action or inaction, to hand a branch of the federal government to the party of treason and child murder, then you have a serious problem dealing with reality.
As Limbaugh said the other day, if you get bad service at a restaurant, do you punish them by going down the street to a place that will poison you?
