Parents plead for info on son

Parents of a missing Westbank man appealed Thursday for anyone who might know something about his disappearance to call police.
Aaron Derbyshire, 22, hasnt been seen since last Friday night, when he got separated from friends at the Level nightclub in downtown Kelowna.
Its very heart-wrenching for us, Glenda Derbyshire said during a press conference outside the Leon Avenue club.
Were asking anyone who might have brushed shoulders with him that night, said hi, to please call the police, she said. Any bit of information could be very helpful.
She and her husband, Gordon, described their son, who works as a surveyor, as conscientious and friendly.
Hes a stable young guy, close to everybody. He calls us all the time, hes in touch with his friends constantly. And not one person has heard from him since just after midnight last Friday, Gordon said.
Derbyshire took a cab to the club, where he met friends and a cousin. When they lost track of him, they just assumed hed gone home.
On Saturday morning, however, he wasnt at his Westside apartment to be picked up by friends for a pre-arranged rafting trip, and he didnt show up for work on Monday.
Were a very close family, Glenda said. This is completely out of character for him to be away this long and not let anybody know where he is.
Aaron works 10 hours a day, plays soccer and golf and doesnt have a criminal record.
Were making all the inquiries that we can think of and following up on every avenue, RCMP spokesperson Const. Annie Linteau said. So far, its a mystery.

Oh, no! I am very sorry for COand her family.
Is there any news about her grand-nephew?
Please bring Aaron home safely no matter where he is or what has happened. Hold him close to You, Lord, and send a miracle to his family. Make haste to help him, Mighty God, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
The entire thing is odd RGGTx!! Aaron was out celebrating a work related situation organized by his employer. He simply vanished. We aren't sure what exactly is going on except that it seems very much like a set up. The celebration was apparently to do with Aaron finding a calculation error in favour of his boss in the amount of $150K. I'm of the opinion that he was not supposed to find that error. Perhaps the money was meant for some one else's pocket. In any event lots of things are now coming out about the company he works for. Still it is not making it any easier for us. All we know is that they have 12 investigators working 24/7 on this case and they are calling it a criminal investigation. Did Aaron stumble onto something? My sister and brother and law just left (his gramma and grampa). My sister looks terrible. Aarons mother is suffering terribly as is my nephew. I'm of the opinion that this is a lot bigger than Aaron although it is only Aaron that is important to us. CO
Thanks che!! What a summer!!
Thanks Velveeta. I appreciate the prayers more than y'all know. CO
Ping! - need your prayers friends. CO
Oh my God!
He's all we've got right now nully!! If you go to www.castanet.net you can get the cached articles going back to September 30th. CO
Thanks. I've posted a link to this thread on the FReoples thread.
CO, very interesting. I wonder, why didn't Aaron go with the others to check the altercation? And why did the altercation draw away the other people he was with? Was it an altercation within their group?
I know you probably can't answer most of my questions, but this sure raises many questions. I know this much, Aaron is fortunate to have you on his side. You're sharp as a tack and nobody's fool.
My heart breaks for you and your family.
May God bless you with strength and courage, and comfort your aching hearts.
Thanks so much Nully - appreciate it. We never know what a day will bring forth huh? CO
RG - the altercation didn't have anything to do with the group. Aaron likely wasn't interested in watching a fight. Their story is that when they returned he was gone. However, my next question would have been Why didn't you look for him before you all left without him? What kind of friends just leave and not even look for their friend? I suppose the police are asking these questions at least I expect they are.
Yup! In an instant everything is all changed.
*sigh* yeah.
