The Minority Leader is in a pickle.
A former staffer became a whistle-blower, and revealed shady details involving a land transaction that netted a cool mil.
Today, the ML declared that he was reimbursing his campaign war chest for funds which had been converted to pay personal expenses. That is illegal, and the ML knows it. Still, according to the ML, it’s not his fault.
Reid labeled the AP story as the “latest attempt” by Republicans to affect the election. AP reported last week that it learned of the land deal from a former Reid adviser who had concerns about the way the deal was reported to Congress.
On the FEC violations:
Reid’s office said the listing as salary was a “clerical error” and that the use of campaign money for the residential fund was approved by his lawyers.
In his arrogance, the ML feels he is somehow entitled to not only brazenly skirt the intent of the law, but also to blame his political opposition when called on it. Reid’s position of leadership in the minority party does not grant him special privileges to flaunt the law.
It is sauce for the gander time, and Harry Reid should resign. Now.

Silly boy, Democrats don't resign; they get censured and then are heralded as heroes for being brave enough to face and defy their accusers.
I faxed Frist and McConnell, Lugar & Soderel and demanded that an investigation be done on Reid and that this not be allowed to go by the wayside. That this would be all over the media if it were a Repubican and that the liberals would be falling all over themselves to get in front of the microphones first. Doubt that it will do any good, but you just never know.

Why do they always think that all they have to do is re-pay the campaign chest or return the illegal contributions and therefore, nothing wrong was committed? That is some eraser, I'll tell ya.
