GOP unworthy of governing
WND ^ | Oct. 2, 2006 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 10/02/2006 5:21:12 PM PDT by UncleJeff

This column is going to make me very unpopular with Republicans.

I don't care. It must be said.

Following the revelations about Florida Rep. Mark Foley's sexually suggestive e-mails to a 16-year-old congressional page, I have concluded Republicans are unworthy of retaining control of the federal government.

I sincerely regret this is the case.

I would much prefer that there were a real viable alternative to the Democrats, who are not only unworthy, but also unacceptable.

But wishful thinking is not going to protect our country. Wishful thinking is not going to expand freedom, promote justice and restore morality to America.

It's time to recognize the two-party system is just flat broken.

The Foley case is a great illustration.

If the Rats truly get a hold of thethree branches in the government someday, the first thing that will go is the alternative media which includes WND. They'll go back to the way things were about 20 or 30 years ago.

Yep. But don't let facts get in the way of Farah's wild-eyed rants.

The Republican Party requires reform, not defenestration.

The Democrats must be denied power.

Has Farah written anything since George W. Bush was elected that was complimentary of this admnistration?

Very good observation from afar, friend.

If people were so angry with the Republican Party, the question is, where were you during the primary?

That was the appropriate juncture to get rid of RINOs.

Ready to throw the baby out with the bath water?

Republicans haven't done as good a job as they promised. Partly because of obstructions, partly because of appeasement the obstructionists, and a host of other reasons.

However, what have the Democrats offered? Bush lied, Cut & Run, appease terrorists, impeach Bush, raise taxes, I hate Bush, impose a draft, get rid of Bush, stop funding the war, Bush is stupid, Bush is a moron, Bush needs to fire Rummy, Bush needs to fire Rove, Bush can't lead, Bush isn't qualified, Bush didn't complete his service, and many more slams against Bush.

That's the Democrat platform they offer, I hate Bush, Rumsfeld, Rice, Rove, Cheney, and Republcians.

They have no ideas, no values, no conscience and they have nothing to offer except hatred of Bush and Republcians.

As poorly as Republicans have governed, Democrats will only do much worse.

This has to be one of the stupidest things ever written on paper with ink.

Mr. Farrah--you wouldn't suggest we turn over more power to the democratic party would you?
The alternative to the GOP is a sad, losing, awful, socialist, tax raising, wasteful, abortion loving, weak defense, anti-family, anti-Christian and anti-semetic group of liars. I don't think so and it's a stupid claim.

That makes sense. Junk the Republicans in favor of their cowering cousins because some congressman who happens to be a Republican likes chasing boys. Makes sense to me .... IF I WAS A CRACK ADDICT.

OK...

So lemme get this straight...

A GOP Congressman got the hots for an underage boy, therefore, we should hand control of the government over to the Democrats so that they can surrender to the Islamofascists.

Joe, you need to step away from the crack pipe.

Joseph, Joseph...

What to say? The two party sytem is all we have at the moment, and what a moment it is!

Yes, I would have to largely agree with you regarding the GOP being "unworthy", but we realistically only have two choices. They don't have to be worthy, they only have to be the best choice around. It's a sad, but starkly absolute, state of affairs.

I have kids Joseph. Those kids ride school and city busses and take occasional airplane trips with me and my wife. We attend large public gatherings of sports, etc. We have friends and family serving in the military right now, one just returned from Iraq. I don't want anyone in my family, nor anyone else's, killed by a terrorist freak!.

So, I hope you don't mind my saying so, but the Republicans are most certainly my choice to govern us, worthy or not, and I will vote to help them continue to govern. Your article, while born of justifiable frustration, only serves one master in this election season, the Democrats.

Republicans, for all the warts the party has, are far and away the only viable choice in Novemeber. It is a tightly contested group of races, so it'll be helpful when you get back to pointing out that undeniable fact instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Hyperbole aside, we can't live without them.

Another disinformation campaign. First, the e-mails weren't particularly disturbing. Sleazy, yes, but no "there" there. The IMs are a different story.

The Libs like to blur the difference between the e-mails and the IMs. The e-mails have been around for awhile - when did the IMs show up? The GOP claims not to have even heard of those, and maybe they are right.

I am never going to defend Foley - he's best out of there. But I'm not convinced those IMs are legitimate. How many people his age use IM? That's a teen thing. And the language in those IMs was also teen stuff.

OK, maybe Foley was trying to be "hip", but it's also a possibility that someone hacked his id, and the whole thing was a set-up.

I'm not buying this story yet.

"I would much prefer that there were a real viable alternative to the Democrats, who are not only unworthy, but also unacceptable."

Good ol' FR. Criticize the R party and you are a Democrat. I happen to agree with the man on one point. The two party system is plain old broken. R's at this time are only marginally better than Ds. Some of them, anyway. The Ds of a few short years ago are more conservative than most of the Rs today. I'm not sure I know an R more conservative than JFK. That was only a tad over 40 years ago. It will only get worse in the future as both parties continue their rapid movement to the left. The Ds are leading the race to the left but the Rs are trying their best to catch up.

Yep, it's broken.
