The rate of inflation using only the pre-Clinton era CPI is closer to 7%! Here's a hint....
a pre-Clinton CPI won't include the internet economy.

I hope the author is having fun shorting the S&P index.

This is utter nonsense posing as winsight and isdom. This guy would favor policies that would plunge us into deflation and a real depression in now time.
A conspiracy to fake inflation numbers to make them lower than they are? Don't you think an army of economists would be talking about this if an inkling of it were true?
And what's with the quote about the fourth quarter in an election? Are we reporting growth before it happens? The fourth quarter begins October 1.

I always ask these doom & gloomers if they're short--and the answer is "I don't really play the market . . . "

ok whatever. Hard to tell we are in a recession when the economy is booming and the stock market is up every day and unemployment is the lowest ever.

I've gotten to the point that I take them in stride anymore. Some day one of them may pan out. And perhaps not...
That's how I look at it too. I'm prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. My house is paid off and I have food for a couple of months. Really all I have to worry about is taxes and utility bills.

LOL, what utter bull####. Amazing.
Do you remember the 70s under Carter? That's what a recession looks like. We aren't seeing anything like that today.
But hey, Democraps, keep up with the "Blame Bush" political strategy. It's worked so well for you the past two elections. /spit
