Yes, the could. Surrendering to the liberals in the party helps how? We have a majority in both houses and the Presidency! For that, we have huge non-defense spending bills, CFR, NCLB, and the lack of respect for the rule of law. We can't continue supporting people who agree with Kennedy. That's the road to hell.

I can understand that viewpoint. I shared it in 2004. Now, I'm not confident that the party leadership DOESN'T want us (conservatives) gone. As I've said previously, I have conservative Republicans to vote for and they'll get my support both voting and money. What won't at this point are the national organizations I've donated to in the past - RNC and NRCC. Silence implies consent, and I do not consent to this liberalization of the national party. The Party of Reagan is devolving back to the loser party of Rockefeller.

A Rudy, however, will not get my vote in '08. If I were to shut up about that until after the '08 election... well, I'd be stuck with him and my vote - my only power over the elected - *would* be WASTED.

Movement conservatism will die if we keep voting in people are are liberals and expect them to follow a platform they don't agree with, never agreed with, and just plain don't like. Now, my state does its duty concerning the Senate and House - mostly good conservatives. California, on the other hand. ;)
