Those of you who know me know that I am NOT a rule-breaker. Straight-laced girl from the midwest. But I couldnt resist this one. A new sign went up that said no jogging on a certain road in the compound. The elimination of this road on the jogging route cut out ½ a mile, making it more monotonous. I talked my favorite AF captain into breaking the rules and running on the forbidden section. We took pictures to document it. About 2 minutes later, the wing safety officer flagged us down and told us we must have missed the new signs. We said we didnt even notice (a white lie). A week later I was flying with LtCol Sexton, and I fessed up that I knew all along about the signs. Fortunately, I had developed a rapport with him at that point, and he was cool. I told him I would stick to the treadmill and 5K competitive run on Fridays, and do a feature on one of his staffers. All is good.

My my first GIS response for "Tom Ricks" led me to this University of Wisconsin Instructor's (and Air Force PR ditz's) blog. She was quite enamored by the presence of Tom (who recently claimed to Howie Kurtz that IDF forces were leaving katyusha launch sites intact to kill Jewish babies in the PR war).
She seems to think a lot of herself.
But it looks like, in the end, info Babe is gona be busted by the bad photoshop above.
The image name for that lame "No Jogging" photoshop job is "busted.JPG". How appropriate.
Finally, how in hell did this wench become a Major in my military?
That may not be a photoshop. I'm inclined to believe it's a new sign and the flash from the camera (assuming it was on) illuminated it.
I am totally baffled as to why we are supposed to dislike this woman. She looks like a honorable servicewoman. I don't see anything else here.
I don't get it.
Her name must really be Major Ditz...
OK you are really vague about this and quite insulting to this Major, she doesnt seem to be bad...and so what if she has a few pics about herself thats not a crime.
I think all Freerepublic members should be banned from examining pictures for 48 hours, this is ridiculous.
Sorry, but I've had experience with silly females in the military who play stupid games and give the rest of us a bad name. Officers included. It's hard enough being female in the service and it seems you have to work twice or three times as hard to be taken seriously and earn a solid reputation. Maybe I'm carrying a lot into this, but it reminded me of another female Major who behaved very badly while deployed....
She's a reserve officer who seems primarily concerned with being a gadfly and showing her pearly whites. And you ppls wonder where folks like Murtha come from?
Okay, I'm no Vet. I'm a lowly Army Brat. My Father fought in three wars and dragged me from Munich to Fort Wainwright. Growing up in the military, stopping for taps every day, sitting on my ass for a year waiting for (and wondering if) my Dad would come home.
Listening to civilians bash my Dad for what he did in Vietnam...
Well, I think I developed a nose for a poser.
Just don't jump on my $hit for being a wannabe or any of that crap. Short of being in the service, I've lived the service life for many years.
Go over to to DU or Kos if you want to bash a$$holes who don't know anything about the military.
Everybody wants to be the next Buckhead. (I assume you know who Buckhead is).
As an aside, if you don't get a handle on this preoccupation of yours , you will end up like Kieth Olbermann with his fanatical and unhealthy obsession of the FNC's Bill O'Reilly.
PS.....tell Pops thanks!
Private Benjamin lives!
Notice how in the blog she is careful not to mention what sandbox she is in, but the earlier posts she specifically mentions Iraq? The whole deployment seems like a photo op and bragbook material for her.
Maybe so, but she's not making us read it. Tinian is the one who is giving her all the free publicity - unwarranted, I might add. This woman is of no consequence whatsoever.
I happen to disagree. She paints a goofy and careless picture of what it is like to live in a war zone -- and being a PR person makes it all the more troubling. Maybe I'm extra sensitive because I've lost friends over there and have many friends who continue to live with the physical and mental injuries of what they have experienced and seen.

I dont get it then, would you rather her talk about how deadly it is or how many soldiers were killed? I served myself, was injured, have lost friends but come on she is over there, she is serving and who cares if on a little blog she takes time to put her spin on things, after all I am sure for her its an escape from the crap that goes on over there.
I see your point of view. But all wars are like that. Check out some of the World War II lore.
