Saw the movie today.
Nice movie, but not as really great as I expected.
I gotta admit I never thought of the religious symbolisms you mention, while I was watching it.
But yeah, Lois Lane was a good woman, and her bf turned out to be a great guy and a good father to the boy, even tho he's not his biological son.
Plus of course good triumphs over evil.
Nice wholesome entertainment fare for the family.

You said the world doesn't need salvation so why do I hear it calling out for a Savior.
I am going to make that my Tag. Most uplifting thing I have heard in a movie in years and much more important than Superman saying Truth justice and the American way.

I saw it 2 hours ago and I picked up a all of the religious inferences.
You even have Superman in space with his arms out like he is on a cross. Eyes closed listening to the world, then when he hears the cry for help or trouble, he comes down from the heavens to help.
Very Christ like to me IMO.
