The Duke case is about race relations, but also about gender relations.
The rape charge is the ultimate nuclear option for women. And, we've all heard the stories of women who push that button.
Sadly for everyone, we'll soon reach a stage where rape charges aren't believed. Later on, we'll believe that there is no moral stigma in any sexual activity, and therefore the violent act of rape will be seen as simply an alternative sexual expression.
Joe,
Have you talked with your therapist about your anger?
my feelings about this case are pretty clear, but I take issue with you on the "leg up"....men are roughly 50% of the population but still are in vast majorities in Congress,in the state houses and governorships, in the ranks of judges and police...
a woman is still a minority among those groups....
look at what happened to the 19 yro who accused Bryant.....the defense "slipped up" and stated her name three times in court.....you do know, don't you, that her family home was broken into and she herself was threatened to be killed.....I think two guys in separate cases were arrested.....
before you make sweeping statements about revealing victims or alledged victims name in the media, first think of your own dtr or your wife, or maybe niece....rape is still the ultimate humiliation for anyone, even men.....
