and hopefully we will get the Indies and the Greens and others to vote in the November for her

And therein lies the problem for the Democrats. A party base that is becoming more split and fractured as time goes on.

Death sentence? A despicable lie.

Sooo, do you live down here in San Diego? Do you live everyday with the illegals clogging up the parking lots to get work so they can send their money back home to Mexico? I tried to see what state you're from but there is nothing in your About page. Are you down here with me living close to the border?

The illegals are committing crimes, they are shutting down our hospitals, they are relying on our emergency services for everyday health care (with me picking up the tab!), they are taking up space in our schools so that our own citizens can't attend their neighborhood schools, and they are overburdening our social services.

Death sentence for us? You betcha!

Matter of fact, I do. The border is 8 miles thataway.

And yes, it's a despicable lie.

The poor little DUmbasses are feeling better today:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2326150

Californians in those kinds of districts are among the stupidest and shallowest voters you'll find anywhere in the nation....

Figure out who counts the votes and the answer is pretty clear. CA, I'm afraid, has been re-Deibold-ed. MacPherson is doing his job. It is especially easy to rig the vote in predominantly Repub districts. Or to allow it to be rigged....

This is exactly what I and many many others predicted, a lead in the polls and a loss at the electronic voting machine stations (what used to be the ballot box).

The next round of elections will be no different. The Repubs will make slight gains nation-wide or if they lose a few key races, they will win in several important races, as the above.

Nothing will change until audits are done FOR EVERY ELECTION COUNTED BY ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES. Either that or there's a return to hand-counted paper ballots....

I believe our government has been overthrown by Bush and his co-horts via diebold. We will not see democrats taking back Congress in November, despite all of the usual signs that curiously were historically accurate, until diebold.

But, the winner for the most confused logic goes to:

But outside the primaries held in the district, Busby increased her total by 9000 votes (over the total votes for the party) while Bilbray increased his total by only 1000 votes (over the total votes for the party).

What does it mean? That Busby won the non affiliated vote by 9 to 1?

??So, Busby got more votes from people who didn't live in the district? Hmmmm..... Nice to know...

A few more for fun:

In 2004 Busby lost by over 20%, this time she lost by 4%...I don't think this bodes well for republicans in November.

Why was the race close? What's the margin that would require..a recount? Whatever that figure is, I would suggest that the machines were calibrated to hit that point or slightly over. Had nothing to do with Busby. I suspect (tho it can't be proven in any way without a recount and that's either impossible or highly unlikely with electronic voting) that Busby won the election handily. She was registering a 5% pre-election poll lead according to a previous post and probably the lead was increasing right up to the election. That would make it a 9-point swing.

It just keeps going, and going, and going, and going...

We're talking 10 million people, max, out of THREE HUNDRED MILLION. 3.33%!

Death sentence? A despicable lie.

Who is talking 10 million? I didn't see any cap on AMNESTY or AMNESTY for relatives. There is probably 20 plus million here already. What happened in 1986? There were supposed to be just 1 million but ended up with 3 million plus chain migration of relatives..It really doesn't matter how many, because AMNESTY has been proven wrong and will only lead to more illegal entrants. Entiende? Before you call people liars I suggest you read up on FACTS. Welcome to FR.

11 to 20 million AND it will go to almost 50 million in a few years if the amnesty goes through.

It rewards lawbreakers and punishes law-abiders and encourages more illegal migration.

Get your numbers and fact straight.

Looks like democracy is a lie! Time to institute a dictatorship of the vanguard of the proletariat!

"Power to the People" means "Power to the people chanting 'power to the people!'"

I am indeed disgusted with some of our GOPer comrades, but *these* people are infinitely worse.

Get YOUR numbers straight. That "50 Million" is a vast exaggeration. It's more like 25 million, over the next 20 years. IOW, still on the order of less than 5%.

Actually we will not see Democrats take back Congress until at least 2022, as Elbridge Gerry, the friend of Democrats from 1932 to 1992, is now on our side. Diebold has nothing to do with it.

Who is going to pay for all the benefits for these 50 plus million people? Not me, you want them you pay for them.

If you live 8 miles from the border in SD and aren't affected and don't see the problem you must be in Coronado and worried about your gardner and maid?

Care to source that? My numbers come from the Heritage Foundation.

50M is NOT an exaggeration, in fact it is on the very light side. All those amnestees (which I notice you haven't addressed the immorality of amnesty), will immediately go to Mexico and bring back their families. That ALONE will be an additional 5-8 million inside of YEAR ONE.

Also, I notice you don't correct your innacurate figure of 10M, which NO ONE says. It is 12-20M right now.

I earn below the poverty level, jack. Thank you very much.

All I'm saying is that it's manifestedly stupid and evil to claim crowded hospitals are a "death sentence."

Actually, none of these numbers or the guesses in past articles account for economic saturation in the US and desaturation in Mexico.

(Don't want to make this an immigration thread so I'll stop with this one note..)

The saturation point in our economy comes when there frankly, aren't enough jobs to fill the current trends we are seeing or the compound trends predicted. As we reach closer to this saturation point, the jobs will become more and more competitive and less worthwhile to enter illegally for these jobs.

On the converse, as the job market in Mexico becomes desaturated with workers, demand will increase, and thus, potential wages, making the value of jobs there increase.

IMHO, we have almost reached the saturation point..

None of this also accounts for technology replacing low wage jobs, a whole other story...

It all happens in cycles, no matter what law or enforcement we pretend will fix the problem..

To have an R win with the very strong scandal hanging over the head of this race shows the strength of the base. There are so many variables anyone can read anything they want, I suppose, but it is like NFL stats: At the end of the game the only stat that matters is the one on the scoreboard.

Gee,I wasn't talking about the Northern border.

A despicable lie? Others have given you the correct facts on the number of illegals here in the U.S. Amnesty didn't work. No guessing about it. Reagan tried it, it failed! It has only encouraged more to cross our borders illegally. They have no need of guest worker cards, or green cards. I have heard the illegals myself say there is no need to go through those legal channels as they will be granted citizenship eventually by doing nothing.

You're a newbie disrupter that has hijacked this thread and I'm very sorry to PJ that I contributed to it.

It is 12-20M right now>>

Per the U.S. Census Bureau, it was 7 million in 2003. Even if that number is low by 50%... it's no more than 10 million now, by a VAST max.

Or do you think the U.S. Census Bureau is made up of clintonite-bushite-one-worlder-communist-nazis?

INS: 7 million illegal immigrants in United States
Mexicans make up nearly 70 percent of total, figures show
From Terry Frieden
CNN
Saturday, February 1, 2003 Posted: 12:48 AM EST (0548 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- More than a million illegal immigrants have slipped into the United States in the past few years, raising the total in the country to 7 million, the Immigration and Naturalization Service said Friday.

The vast majority of the illegal immigrants are from Mexico, officials said.

The numbers are based on census figures from 2000 and the agency's own statistics. They are the first official government figures on illegal immigration released since 1996.

The figures show that between October 1996 and January 2000, the number of illegal immigrants grew from about 5.8 million to about 7 million, an increase of more than 300,000 annually.

The proportion of the illegal immigrants who are Mexican has increased to nearly 70 percent from less than 60 percent, the INS said.

Although California is home to the most undocumented immigrants, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina have the greatest rate of increase, the figures showed.

Justice Department spokesman Jorge Martinez said the latest figures are believed to be more accurate than previous ones because they reflect new methods used to determine trends in the entry and departure of undocumented residents.
