Americans Need to Start Speaking Up and Show Some Action

I recently went to my local grocery store HEB. The kraft company was there handing out coupons and cookbooks. I was totally disappointed and offended in both parties the Kraft cookbook was all in Spanish and in small print it said if you need this recipe in English go to our website. I find that very offensive the last time I checked English was the American language not Spanish. Americans need to start speaking up and show some action I will not support the Kraft company nor will I ever shop at HEB. There is no reason why the cookbook was not printed in both languages.

A private company can publish its material in whatever language it likes. If the area you were shopping has a large Spanish-speaking population it makes financial sense to cater to that population. I personally don't think your decision to boycott Kraft based on this is very rational, and I don't think it matters because they'll probably catch a few Spanish-speaking customers to make up for it.

HELLO!!! I've been complaining about the very thing! We only have two stores within an hour and a half drive - Walmart and HEB. Both are just as bad. The freebie recipe cards in the produce section of Walmart were all in Spanish so I grabbed a bunch and scribbled in red in ENGLISH! BTW, all the ones I wrote on were gone the next time I looked so you know they got trashed. That same day, I could hardly find any food or cleaning product label that wasn't in Spanish and then at the check out the couple in front of me was complaining the credit card machine thingie was also in Spanish.

The next week at HEB, I was at the gas pumps and looked up at the Meal Deal sales ad on top of the pump and it was in Spanish.

Enough is enough! This is America. The Constitution, last I read it, was in ENGLISH. Of course, since the National Anthem is in Spanish, I guess they'll change the Constitution to Spanish next.

I'll support your boycott of Kraft. Please, add Hoover cleaning products to your list. Do you know of anyone who has a boycott list for this? I've been wanting one for months now. Anytime I see Spanish on the label, I pass it up for one in English.

For the companies out there who think they won't lose customers over this, think again. I have boycotted Post cereal now for over a decade simply because they refused to send a missing toy from a cereal box. I've stuck to the French boycott after they badmouthed America. So, believe me, I can easily boycott any company who is giving America to Mexico.

BTW, the McDonald's here (not that I go that often) put up a Spanish menu in front of the English menu. Apparently they got complaints because the next time I went through, there was just the English menu. Customer complaints do work.

I just emailed a complaint to HEB. I've never recieved a reply from them in the past so don't expect much this time either.
