I wonder if Ian McKellen thinks it should be labeled as fiction? Yeah right! A gay actor taking on Islam. He'll wish he was Magneto or a wizard to survive what happens to him....in Arabic or Aramaic or in anyother Islamic langage!
DURKA DURKA!

I wonder what differences would be revealed with a direct translation of the Bible from Aramaic?

I wonder what differences would be revealed with a direct translation of the Bible from Aramaic?I may be mistaken, but I think the author's point is to translate the koran from the language it was written in.
To: Dark Skies
Yes. What language(s) was the Bible originally written in?

You know as well as I...a variety of ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.

Well, who ever wrote this article better go into hiding.

The only way the queeranus should be read and interpreted is through a hogs intestine!

Muslim commentators state that there are virgin women in heaven with sexy eyes waiting for men who engage in Jihad. The Aramaic language of the Quran does not imply that at all. The Quranic verse says: there is water and white raisins.
Water and white raisins ?
WOW !!
To: be4everfree
Water and white raisins ? Isn't that part of Theresa Heinz's secret breakfast drink recipe?

And then translated to Latin/English/French...
... you see the potential flamewar here? :-)

Maybe they meant white water rafting.

However, if there is any substance to this claim that the koran should be interpreted from the Aramaic instead of Arabic...and if the interpretations provided by this author are indeed true, it should make for a very interesting discussion among muslims.****************
I have to say I am sceptical about the muslim world's possible response to this.

Wouldn't be the first time. I have been flamed, skewered and served well-done before.
Have a good weekend.
