Has Janeane Garofalo officially turned against her listening audience?
After a second show spent promoting Scientology, that certainly appears to be the case. Rather than take our word for it, look at what her fans have to say, here.
Joining the ranks of Lyndon LaRouche sympathizer and Air America Radio co-founder Sheldon Drobny, with Garofalo, the liberal network is increasingly providing a sympathetic home for extremist sects and fringe beliefs.
MSNBC is now taking notice, as well, with this from Jeannette Walls:
The actress and talk-show host has done two segments on her Air America radio show Majority Report, heaping praise on the controversial New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project, a program based on the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
On one show, her guests included Leah Remini, star of King of Queens and a devout Scientologist, who sang the praises of the detox project.
Janeanne Garofalo goes gonzo promoting Scientology-linked program
Apparently, Air America Radio talk show host Janeanne Garofalo has gone gonzo for the Scientology-linked program New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project.
On Friday April 28th, Garofalo did her second show segment in the same month to promote the program based upon the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. This time the host of Majority Report allotted a 17-minute spot, for what came across as something like an infomercial.
CultNews previously reported about another Garofalo last April show promoting Tom Cruises pet project in New York, which included Scientologist and sitcom star Leah Remini.
This time Ms. Janeanne had no Scientology celebrity, but practically chanted the Web site address of the controversial project and its phone number.
The talk-show host was like some pre-recorded device, pitching questions to Jim Woodworth, so that the projects head could hold forth with Hubbardisms.
Stupid Janeane...
Acting out against Sam and Josh by inviting these
WACK JOBS BACK!
Hey where's your 'sponsor' Janeane? Did he run screaming when they tried to insert the E Meter into his butt while playing BOooks on Tape "Dianetics" over and over and over!!!

I lost all respect for this show tonight. Why are they pumping up Scientology and junk science? I thought Republicans were supposed to be the party of anti-science. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Narconon/detox.htm

Janeane sounds ridiculously arrogant today.

Maybe Janeane has just reached the end of her rope (with regard to MRR), and is trying to get fired.
Might be the only way she can think to get out of her contract.
Or maybe she just made another bonehead move in her choice of guests.

Too bad she's a lib. I think she's hot in a librarian type of way.
garofalo is a nauseating little goblin.
She had a base to turn against?????? (sacasm on)
Jeaneane God-Awful-Ho is a waste of bandwidth.
If Garofalo really is a Scientologist it's too bad, because if anybody needs anti-psychotic drugs it's her.
Wow. It looks like someone had to overclocked their PhotoShop in that first picture of her. She almost doesn't look as butt-ugly as she really is. Isn't being naturally beautyless a virtue of a good liberal?
I'd hit it.
Agreed! But gosh darn it,there's no way of telling where she's been...if ya catch my drift.
Please refer to my response #9.
She was semi-cute in that "Cats and Dogs" movie...
But the smarmy condescension and liberal attack politics are enough to turn any sane person off.
"Please refer to my response #9."
Oh yeah, I say that applies.
'Tis a shame. Some of my favorite radio is when JG calls into Hannity's show, and he playfully bats her around. She doesn't seem to have any strong convictions and seems to be easily led around.
If you read the "Entertainment career" part of her bio and ignore her politics, she is portrayed as a difficult, troublesome performer. I think she was born to be miserable.
I think you'd have to be a chick for her to like you back. :-)
