'Course, if ya wanna join the party, FReepmail me to get on board.

"If illegal immigrants, instead of marching through the streets of America with demands, marched through their native streets with such passion, we might not need a fence."
After all... isn't this how the American dream started? Isn't that what being an American is truly about? The PEOPLE have the voice, and if the PEOPLE don't like what's happening then it's up to the PEOPLE to demand the change. If the demand goes unanswered by those in power, then the people have to MAKE the change. What if, instead of flowing across the border, all of the Mexicans that are here or are coming here stood together and rallied against the current lawmakers and political leadership of their home country? What if they marched against the oppression plaguing Mexico. Instead of stealing across the border and living in hiding...make your country what you want so badly here.

If people want to call the Minutemen vigilantes then they may as well forget their history. There were rapscallions, for lack of a better word, amongst the Founding Fathers.
We will have to forget who and what a signer of the DoI,
John Hancock, was as well.
And there is the Boston Tea Party (perhaps just a little
too radical to be repeated in our era) to be forgotten and, then there is...ah, well, you get the picture.
Down the memory hole it goes.

Anyone who knows even a little of U.S. history should feel proud when they hear the term "Minuteman" - whether referring to the heroes of yesterday or the heroes of today.

Chris Simcox and his band of undocumented border patrollers, who have made a gesture of such true American spirit, one can really only stand up and cheer, or, at the very least, chuckle.
Gilchrist, Simcox and the boys and gals in the Minuteman Organization are the raised middle finger to Vicente Fox and ever POS OBL in this country.

If more folks around the world took upon themselves this courage and determination, we'd have a lot less sacrificing to do on their behalf. Our Left squandered their time at the reins (60+years) by driving us into a wilderness where most would welcome salvation by 'tyrant-like' leaders to deliver us from the thorns of everyday life- where liberty and rights were abandonded, our constitution and other signposts ignored, leaving us no less desperate than the Donner and Reed partys' attempt to shortcut the Sierras. Witness the cannibalism then and now.
The group that left to summon help in Sacramento (insert Minutemen) faced incredible odds that winter. The Indians who watched them from a distance thought they were crazy to attempt such a trek. And yes, when one died, cannabilism did take place, as no food was available, no hunting possible- given the depth of the snow.
Our reliance upon our Fed-Gov in determining our course is nothing more than a selfish and lazy expression similar to those whose desire it was to reach the 'gold fields' faster than the rest of the wagon train. The states and individuals be damned, so-to-speak.
Short-cuts may involve risk. Short-cutting the path to citizenship may pose great risks. Short-cutting the will of the people to determine their destiny, by placing profits and potential voters ahead of our outlined and well defined constitutional charter may be a risk not worth taking.
