Bill Pierce for US Senate (Ohio) to Defeat RINO Mike DeWine; Getting Involved
BizzyBlog ^ | April 10, 2006 | Self

Posted on 04/12/2006 8:25:00 PM PDT by litany_of_lies

I have endorsed Bill Pierce for US Senator from Ohio over incumbent Senator Mike DeWine and one other less-qualified challenger.

Pierce Bumper

I encourage all Ohioans who read this to vote for Bill in the Republican Primary on May 2, and also ask that everyone spread the word that this man is the best qualified of the three candidates to represent the GOP, and the best qualified person of either party to represent our state. Bill Pierce CAN win in May, and if he wins in May, he WILL win in November.

Here's a quick checklist of Bill's strengths and political positions (go to his web site and blog for more):

Bill Pierce has consistently defeated DeWine with grass-roots voters! Specifically, he has been the clear overall winner in fair and open county endorsement votes during January, February, and March (2 wins, 2 ties). Mike DeWine has one win, one tie, and has not been endorsed THREE times!

Unlike Mike DeWine, Bill Pierce:

On May 2, Ohio voters need to send a message to the Ohio Republican Party, the national GOP, and the rest of the nation by electing one of us -- Bill Pierce.

Pierce Contrib

We have seen in other races how a very large number of relatively small contributions have made a big difference, even THE difference.

The campaign thus far has shown us that Mike DeWine has only two remaining allies: apathy and inertia.

I encourage all FReepers to learn about Bill Pierce. The more you learn, the more you'll like. The more you like, the more you'll want to contribute. Please do.

Pierce

If you are a blogger who wishes to help the cause of electing a true citizen-legislator to the United States Senate, feel free to lift the graphic and link to Bill's blog. If you want to be added to the Blogs4Pierce blogroll at Bill's blog (of course you do!), contact Matt Hurley here.

Hope your guy wins, but, if DeWine wins the nomination, hope he gets your vote.

WE MUST NOT LET HARRY REID CONTROL THE SENATE!

I will support DeWine against Sherrod Brown if it comes to that (swallowing hard and holding nose, but yes I will).

"WE MUST NOT LET HARRY REID CONTROL THE SENATE!"

How would Harry Reid control the Senate any more than Frist does now?

RINOS don't deserve votes, especially liberal RINOS. Doesn't matter who they're running against.

Pierce for senate. If you live in Ohio, or heck, anywhere close. vote for Pierce over DeWine. Remember that name.

There's another guy running for senate too, so don't get confused. We are rallying around Pierce to take back the senate from the Moderates.

You must be joking? Reid will have much more power than Frist because the Rats vote as a block and we don`t.If the Rats control the Senate, we will be running from Iraq, watch your taxes go up, forget anymore conserative judges, and the lawyers will get richer. Of course if those things don`t mean anything to you,I can see why you don`t care.

So, if a RINO gets the nomination in 08 and runs against Hillorat, are you staying home and pouting, or will you hold your nose and do the right thing?

People are overlooking the power we have in voting in the Primary. General elections shouldn't matter at this point. We need to push for our solid candidates in May. At that point, they get all the funding in the world and D's like to put extemists up for election, so we don't have to worry about looking better, they'll shoot themselves in the foot.

When polls stop putting Rice, Gulliani, Pataki, etc. in the polls, candidates like Allen will get more press, while McCain moves farther and farther to the left.

Vote for people that you want to represent you, not who can beat a lib. That mentality gave birth to the RINO.

Agree, but after the primaries, we can`t let the Rats win, especially this bunch. For no other reason, we can`t let them make Iraq another Vietnam. If we lose Congress, thats exactly what will happen.Anybody that stays home cause they can`t vote for a Rino will be partially responsible when the Rats cut and run.

Just to be clear: If pierce wins in May, he will roll over Brown in November. Partly out of fear, the GOP will fund him heavily, and his common-sense conservative message will resonate, esp compared to far-leftie Brown.

And to repeat, if DeWine wins in May, I will swallow hard and vote for him. I can't speak for whether the rest of the base will show up. DeWine has alienated 2nd Amendment folks, he has disastrously voted on illegal immigration in the past two weeks, he likes to spend, he won't drill in ANWR, he's one of the Gang of 14.... and I'm just warming up. It's a lot to expect the whole based to swallow.

Thanks, we got to keep our eye on the ball. Do not understand DeWine at all. How close is it and when is the primary?

No problem.

The answer on closeness is "we don't know."

There has been ONE poll released on the race in mid-March (if I remember right) and it was a mail-in Columbus Dispatch poll that showed challengers with almost nothing.

BUT.... this is the same group that was 28 points wrong (a 56-point swing, I'm not kidding) on 2 of the 4 Reform Ohio Now initiatives last year (in the liberal direction of course), so I don't trust the methodology, I don't trust the objectivity, and I don't trust them to find conservative voters.

The real question isn't what the polls say, it's which candidate can get roughly 600,000 bodies to the polls on Election Day, because that's all it will take to win (it may even be 500,000). So it's all about turning out your people. Blackwell's conservative candidacy and a reasonably close race with Petro should help Pierce by making sure conservatives turn out, but he also has a number of under-the-radar initiatives going with specific groups with lots of members who REALLY don't like DeWine (I'll leave it at that).
