Thanks, we got to keep our eye on the ball. Do not understand DeWine at all. How close is it and when is the primary?

No problem.

The answer on closeness is "we don't know."

There has been ONE poll released on the race in mid-March (if I remember right) and it was a mail-in Columbus Dispatch poll that showed challengers with almost nothing.

BUT.... this is the same group that was 28 points wrong (a 56-point swing, I'm not kidding) on 2 of the 4 Reform Ohio Now initiatives last year (in the liberal direction of course), so I don't trust the methodology, I don't trust the objectivity, and I don't trust them to find conservative voters.

The real question isn't what the polls say, it's which candidate can get roughly 600,000 bodies to the polls on Election Day, because that's all it will take to win (it may even be 500,000). So it's all about turning out your people. Blackwell's conservative candidacy and a reasonably close race with Petro should help Pierce by making sure conservatives turn out, but he also has a number of under-the-radar initiatives going with specific groups with lots of members who REALLY don't like DeWine (I'll leave it at that).
