It's a shame that politicians seem to become so full of themselves and treat their constituents so poorly. I have to agree with you that he is not one of those that is interested in contributing to the good of his state. Unfortunately, the only worse thing is that a democrat is elected... You do have a tough choice and it does seem to be a problem for way too many of our Republican politicians.

This guy seems ok.
I can appreciate his stated positions.
I might even vote for him in the primary.
I do have a dilemma with voting in the primary though.......I really don't consider myself to be a member of the republican party anymore. I won't bore you with my reasons, I'm just unsure as to whether or not I should participate.
I'd like to send this Pierce guy an e-mail and ask him if he'll have the guts once elected to vote against his party on all these issues.
Maybe I will.

Vote in the primary.
If only to vote against the Republican establishment.
Vote Blackwell, Grendell, O'Brien.
That will anger Bob Bennet.

I pay attention to your contributions here.
I consider you to be sincere and good natured.
There is no doubt in my mind that you would do what's right regardless of who it might anger, as an elected official.
Unfortunately, you're probably correct, your character makes you unelectable. Especially in Ohio.
I'm voting for Burbank.

I don't understand those who can vote for someone who holds them and their views in contempt.

I don't think Julie Andrews was the singer who dubbed Deborah Kerr in "The King and I" [if you mean the movie].

Vote Blackwell, Grendell, O'Brien.
The only name I recognize is blackwell...........I have my doubts about him...............
The last time his recorded message was phoned into my home, his message had only 2 points.
1. The state "marriage amendment" - while many (most?) find this issue to be of the utmost importance, I really do not. It doesn't even make my top 25 issues.
2. A direct request for cash. - I've nearly completed my State and Federal returns, our elected have too much of MY MONEY to begin with.
This is the best hope for the State of Ohio? - The answer may be "Yes," but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

There is no reason whatsoever not to be drilling in ANWR. I totally agree. But is this reason alone not to vote for DeWine? Dollars to donuts, his opponent will be opposed to ANWR as well. The whole world doesn't revolve around a single issue like ANWR. For example, DeWine supported Roberts and Alito. Do you really think that his Democrat opponent, if elected, will support nominees like Roberts and Alito. Of course not. Oh, and he will oppose ANWR as well.

There is no reason whatsoever not to be drilling in ANWR. Yes, in most cases. It's always the lesser of two evils. The Rat candidate will always be even worse. Always.

DeWine was also a member of "the gang of Fourteen".I am not against him because of one single issue, but the weight of all his independent positions. What about the other 55 senators that DeWine thumbed his nose at when he voted no on ANWR?Senator Stevens was so angry I thought he was going to explode.ANWR was just the last straw for me.

He doesn't, and I have. New ansentee voting is GREAT!!
If DeWhine wins the primary I will vote Constitution Party in November. I would tell the downstate ORP what I did and why, but they are so busy dodging process servers that they have no time to talk to the peasants with pitchforks.

I am not against him because of one single issue, but the weight of all his independent positions.Fine, but what's the alternative? Do you really think that his Democratic opponent will be any better? or much worse? It's one thing to support his opponent in any primary. But once you get to the general election, this one still seems like a no brainer to me.

Must we support a Republican no matter what, simply because he's a Republican? Pretty much yes. No matter how bad the Republican is, the Democrat will almost always be worse.

Vote third party. I am tired of electing liberal Republicans. Yes, we might get a Democrat senator; we might also get a wiser Republican Party.Brilliant. And in the meantime, the country gets screwed by the Democrats. No thanks.

If that's the case, then we'll never get a Republican to live up to a promise. If they know they get my vote no matter what, they have no reason to deal with illegal immigration, reduce the size of government, or any of a thousand other things I want and they are supposedly for. Tossing incumbents out in primaries is nearly impossible in the current system, so when an incumbent strays too far from the path, our only choice these days is to ditch him, live thru the term of the Democrat, then elect someone new.
