Must we support a Republican no matter what, simply because he's a Republican?

Pretty much yes. No matter how bad the Republican is, the Democrat will almost always be worse.

Pretty much yes. No matter how bad the Republican is, the Democrat will almost always be worse.

If that's the case, then we'll never get a Republican to live up to a promise. If they know they get my vote no matter what, they have no reason to deal with illegal immigration, reduce the size of government, or any of a thousand other things I want and they are supposedly for. Tossing incumbents out in primaries is nearly impossible in the current system, so when an incumbent strays too far from the path, our only choice these days is to ditch him, live thru the term of the Democrat, then elect someone new.
