Four year old child bride tortured unmercifully.....
To hard on the fire ants.
I am not an interpreter of, or an apologist for, Afghani Islam. I'm just saying that it is unjust to blame every Muslim for what a family of depraved sadists did to this poor child.
Again I say, read the article. The rickshaw driver, the kind neighbors who told the police the truth about what happened, the people who run the orphanages in Kandahar and Kabul: they're all Muslims, too,
Those sadists were the pool from which the Taliban drew its killers.
I acclaim those who did try and help.
Regardless, there's a special place reserved in hell for such people.
Indeed.
In fact, though I do my best to ensure my entry into His loving arms upon my mortal demise, I may actually be destined for warmer climes.
If this is the case, I hope I am assigned to that "special place" in order to mete out appropriate punishment to scumbags like those in the above article.
You are absolutely correct in your observations that it was Muslims that came to the aid of this poor child. However, it is still true that the Koran (at least the way many read it) allows for child brides to be married against their will and allows (and in some instances recommends) the inhumane treatment of women.
You're quite right. And not only the Koran. Mohammad's own example as recorded in the Hadiths is horribly instructive: his collection of slave-concubines, including a Jewish woman who was forced to watch her husband being beheaded, and then claimed by Mohammad for his harem; and his consummation of marriage with his child-bride Aisha (married at age 6, consummated at age 9, when Mohammad was 54) -- what disgusting things for a so-called prophet to do.
When the teachings of a group allow for such barbarism, there comes a time when the group itself has to be held accountable. Obviously not all Muslims are barbarians, in fact the overwhelming majority are not; however, very few Muslims (especially in the areas of the world that are predominantly Muslim) are willing to denounce those portions of the Koran that condone actions such as these.
It is not unlike Eisenhower forcing the citizens of nearby towns to view the concentration camps, the fact that they were not participants did not excuse their passive assent.
Such people are barbarians. The religion and the culture are indistinguishable.
Dear God in Heaven! Have never heard of that torture by the Japanese. Sounds like fit punishment for these horrid people who tortured this child.
