How is North Dakota? We just suffered under a weekend heat wave here in the mid 80s. Okay, now I'll shut up and go eat a 25 cent avocado...

LOL! Lilek's "bleat" today opens with "It's springtime. My wife and daughter made a snowman." (He's in MN).

they mean "my truth" or "an emotional truth" which is not what sane people mean. Great, great point. It's a blatant call for "talking" something into "becoming" the truth--aka The Big Lie.

Because it's one of those stupid, trite phrases used by college-age pseudo-intellectuals who somehow think that in their 21 years of life they have figured out how to solve ten thousand years of intractible human strife and create utopia (if only The Man would listen!).LOL! Excellent!
One reason, I think, that these phrases are so awful is because the mindset seems to be that if they just find the right way to package their stupid ideas, they stop being stupid.

"speak truth to power">>>
I feel the same way you do about that phrase, it creeps me out. They never allude to the fact that they were in power almost exclusively for 40 years. Why didn't they fix everything so we could have a perfect world now?

Not sure about anyone else, but "speak truth to power" is the most cringe-inducing of phrases, to me. It just makes me wince and look away. I'm not sure why, exactly.
Every time I hear those words or see them in print on my computer, it makes me want to go out and kick the first living thing I see in the head.

These are the same people who are trying to convince middle America that they are strong on defense. Liberals truly see us as Corky Thatcher, don't they? Unfortunately for them, they are the ones who wear a helmet.

geez, this is the perfect analogy for the dimocrats. They are over"thinking" pseudo-intellectuals who underestimate their opponent The only thing they lack is an ACME catalog.

It's so stupid and arrogant--and typical of leftists to think they speak the "truth"; and even more typical to express that idea in such a boneheaded way.

Already, Republicans are readying the easy response to the "failed Presidency" strategy the Dims are forming.
It is even dumber (and less salesworthy) than the Kerry "I'm not Bush."
How sad these people don't have a single real issue they dare share with the American public.

Also, we need Bush for the November elections - this election should also be a referendum on his policies. Isn't this the same group that's already spinning their 2006 losses on Diebold? So, basically, if they win, it's a complete repudation of Bush. If (when) they lose, it was fraud, and still a complete repudation of Bush. Kind of a "heads I win, tails you lose" thing.

We need election fraud to be front and center of the media- and of our conversations. Again, not to help or anything, but you all did so much better at that election fraud thing when you weren't putting it front and center all of the time. You'd be better off having the media resume their lapdog role of shutting up about it altogether.

"Truth to power" is akin to "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem" teeth gnashing pablum the Left uses to appear intellectually superior to we lesser mortals. During the campaign, Kerry used the second as a reply when O'Reilly asked a question.
Don't tell the fools that trite, sixties rhetoric shows not only their age, but the shallowness of their ability to debate issues.
These tired, sixties phrases are akin to the over use of cussing - it becomes less shocking and more revealing of intellectual capacity the more they do it.
