That is sad, she died so young.

How much trouble will I be in if I admit I have no idea who you all are talking about?

LOL. Princess Sumer-Fall-Winter-Spring was a character on the Howdy Doody Show. As I remember she came out in dark pigtails as an American Indian Princess.

As you can see in the pictures in post # 19, she was pretty nice. She and Annette Funicello were the center of our universe back then.

;-)

Wow, can I relate to this story. I am 1 year younger than the author, and I too had the Cassidy hair style. Parted down the middle, feathered on the side, but he forgot to add the little "flip" in the back. Thought I was the coolest.
Dad hated it, he wanted me in a crew cut til I started college, but Mom let me grow it long "IF" I kept it clean and neat, and that meant me paying for it.
Needless to say it didn't last long. Dad's crew cuts were free!

I loved "Land of the Lost," but those seaweed monsters really sketched me out.

Yep! I remember HR but, I don't remember Sigmond. In the NY area (I grew up on the N Shore of LI) there always was Romper Room and on Sunday's before Mass there was (oh dear I'm drawing a blank) Sunday mornings channel 5 or 9, I can't remember. Help me out NY'ers! This is gonna drive me crazy, now!

LOL! Those were great shows at least as far as I was concerned at the time! :) It's funny today at work someone near my age and I were talking about all the kids we work with and them being hung over this morning. It reminded me a movie line, a movie that my parents forbade me to see at the time. "Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life son." Name that movie!

That was on real early, after the American Farmer. I always watched Davie & Goliath! We always went to 10:30 Mass. When your up at 5:30 in the morning, there was plenty of time for TV on Sundays!

"I always forget what it is called. Generation Jones, that late blooming boomers. I think the cut-off should be: do you remember Howdy Doody? If you do, you're a boomer, if you don't, you're a Jones. "

Nope...Jones by age and conservative views but I do remember Howdy Dowdy as I was the youngest of 6 and saw it from infancy until it went bye bye. I also remember Topper, Gale Storm, Love that Bob which came on after everyone went off to school and Doby Gillis when they came home...and I remember the little fluffy lamb painted on my crib headboard!
