Republican Ineptness of Handling UAE Port Deal

Posted on 03/09/2006 9:46:57 AM PST by DBCJR

Regarding the UAE control of ports, I think Bush is missing it if he doesn’t get someone to start asking which Clinton is right. Bill was consulting with UAE to get the contract and lobbying (possibly without registration, illegally) while Hillary was vehemently attacking Bush. The Republicans always stand there like a deer in headlights when Dem’s attack. I don’t know how I feel about the UAE running our ports. Anyway Bush went on it, he would have been nailed. If he went against the UAE he would have been branded a bigot against Muslims and affronting our trusted ally when we need their oil. Bill Clinton would have lead that assault. Republicans need to expose the Dem’s strategies right now.

"Republicans need to expose the Dem’s strategies right now"

How? We don't have a Republican that can think much less expose anything. Ever listen to them on TV. All they can do is submit 30 seconds of the same old sh@@, and get a RAT on and they spend many minutes ripping the Republican butt. And what is worse, the Republican limps off like a child just spanked.

I'm not sure whether this is Bush being arrogant or Rove just being overrated at political strategy - but this is the biggest political Fck up I've seen.

It is pure bungling, politically.

The Dems now have two National Security issues to run come election time.

1 UAE Port mess
2 Unprotected borders

It is wide open for many losses of seats and an opportunistic Dem can ride into the WH with some attacks in these two areas.

I just don't get it. Most freepers are in support of profiling when it comes to airport security-- we've all heard the stories of granny getting frisked while Middle Eastern types go right thru.

So why the support for the Dubai trade deal? If profiling is indeed proper, then surely it is of use here.
