HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Haleigh Poutre's birth mother is expected to file a court motion seeking more of a say in her daughter's medical care.
Allison Avrett plans to appear in Holyoke Juvenile Court on Wednesday.
Haleigh, 12, has been hospitalized since police say her adoptive mother and stepfather severely beat her in September.
About a week after taking custody of the Westfield girl in September, the Department of Social Services sought permission to remove her from life support.

Carlie would be 14 tomorrow had she not been murdered. At least this is some small bit of justice for her.

Within 2 years he should be outta here. Florida is a bit like Texas in that regard. In Ohio his appeals would be 10 or 15 years.

Incompetent ME alert (meaning the first one)! Maybe, but he was competent enough to keep any outside observers from looking on. I wonder how many 'manner of death: UNKNOWN' cases get cremated in 48 hours.

He who? Martin's first ME? It IS a good thing that he wasn't cremated like Terri was! That's one thing Michael was very afraid of. If she had only been buried, they could still exhume her body if they wanted to take a look at it again. As it is, we can only have Thogmartin's analysis to look at.

Well, I can see why you might have thought that! Incompetence reigns supreme in Florida.

"applied to the court for immediate cremation"
Didn't they also ask for money in Terri's fund to pay for the cremation?

Yes. The money was awarded by a jury for Terri's care and therapy. Michael must think cremation is therapy. He has a very creative mind.

He has a very creative mind. That sounds like Ms. Bushnell. You know, the one who tried to extort money from the Shindlers to see their daughter?

That was really sick when she charged them an admission fee to see their own daughter and sister. Michael Schiavo's gang treated Terri like an attraction at a county fair. Michael himself described in detail her most intimate bodily functions and maladies (which he caused), while at the same time complaining that the love and respect shown by her family violated her dignity.

Oh, yes, that Ms. Bushnell. It pleases me that I will die before she does. I intend to be in the front row seats when God separates the sheep from the goats.

Something good is happening in Minnesota, North Country Gazette reports.
MINNESOTAAs the first anniversary of the death of Terri Schiavo nears, the disabled Floridian whose feeding tube was removed by court order, Minnesota legislators debated a proposed new law that would require hospitals to give food and water to dying patients.
