They actually think that someone posted on DU for over a year, donated to the site, said they were being deployed, came back months later...all as a FR stunt. Pathetic. I was with one of the Marine MiTT units. (under RCT8) Iraqi, I was with the 2nd Bn, 2nd Bde of the 1st Iraqi IIF division. I can just see the clueless Dummie shrugging his shoulders and going...."Um, yeah, ok.....that sounds official. I think."

Lol, don't let it get you down. I once posted to DU a picture of a billboard in Najaf. It was a religous billing on the avenue leading to the Iman Ali mosque and was taken just before the start of the 2004 insurgency. It had a picture of Al Sadr in a crystal ball flanked by his father and some other clearic with a mosque in the background. The multi-language caption read "Men Are Created For Me". I liked it because it caught the whole 'Islam-is-Slavery' theme in a picture. The picture is also in my profile but I see FReeper Chad Gore is no longer hosting the photos.

After posting it on DU I was accused of photoshopping it and they went through Chad's other pictures, some of which were political humor, lol. Hah, I lasted about 5 hours on DU.

Did you notice that one who calls him/herself dogday said that the Marine was a liar because the soldiers aren't allowed to eat Iraqi food? Small problem: I did a news story last year about a local Guard unit that was deployed to Iraq, and they ate Iraqi food all the time.

This Marine was in my neighborhood. RCT-8 were our neighbors, and 2-2-1 IA is a busy bunch. I can vouch for the accuracy of his few brief statements. For the IA's, this is payback.
