Prosecutors said he died after being severely beaten by unknown assailants. They said his death was not connected to his reporting work.

He's been dead less than a day, and already the police have informed the prosecutors that his job had nothing to do with it.

You'd think they'd wait a few days and pretend to investigate a bit in order to make the lie seem plausible.

NTV reporter killed in Moscow
http://www.moscowtimes.ru/doc/HotNews.html

RIA NOVOSTI. February 26, 2006, 10:05 PM

MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - A special correspondent for Russia's NTV television channel, Ilya Zimin, was killed Sunday in Moscow, the channel's press secretary said.

"We confirm that he tragically died," Maria Bezborodova said. She said no details of his death were immediately available.

A police source said the journalist's body had been found in his Moscow apartment. "According to preliminary reports, the body showed no visible wounds," the official said.

At the same time he recalled that the reporter had been assaulted earlier. In April 2005, Zimin was attacked by a group of people of "Caucasian appearance" outside his apartment building, who beat him and broke his leg. The assailants took his wallet, ID and cell phone.

Speaking on Ekho Moskvy radio, another NTV reporter said he had come to Zimin's apartment after work and found him dead. "His apartment was a mess; there were signs of a struggle and it was spattered with blood; he was dead," Vadim Takmenev said.

The Moscow Prosecutor's Office said Ilya Zimin's killing was not related to his professional activities.

"At the moment, there is no evidence to suggest that the crime was linked to Zimin's professional activity," the Prosecutor's Office press service said.

An investigation is underway.

Yes, and they are also sure it wasn't terrorism. (Think there's too much cross training between the CIA and KGb?:) )

"Prosecutors said he died after being severely beaten by unknown assailants. They said his death was not connected to his reporting work."

If the assailants were unknown then how can the motive be determined as not related to his work?

Investigators identify suspect in NTV journalist murder
20:45 | 27/ 02/ 2006

MOSCOW, February 27 (RIA Novosti) - Investigators have identified a suspect in the murder of Russian television channel NTV reporter Ilya Zimin, a source in the investigation team said Monday.

"In the last 24 hours, investigators have reconstructed the crime, and established the identity of an individual who may have killed Ilya Zimin," the source said.

"Police officers know the name of the suspect. An active search for him is underway, and he is likely to be detained soon," the source said.

He said this had most likely been a murder for personal reasons.

NTV special correspondent Ilya Zimin was killed early Sunday in his Moscow apartment. His body was discovered by colleagues a day later. Experts said Zimin's death was the result of craniofacial injuries. The door to the apartment had not been forced open, they said.

Prosecutors said nothing had been stolen from the apartment. They ruled out any link between the murder and the reporter's professional activity.

C'mon guys.

Take a look how the notorious Poland hater is trying to blame Polish skinheads for killing a journalist in Moscow.

Have you notice that "again"?

Like the favourite activity of Polish skinheads were trips to Moscow to hunt Russian journalists.

Dou you think this is some kind of a difficult mental case, or just pure hatred?

Well, looks like x5452 enjoyed the time when was suspended.

Blame it on Chechens for a change. Sounds ways more credible.

Well recently Polish skin heads beat up a group of helpless Russian teens, it's certainly possible that it was Polish skinheads.

Seriously though current reports indicate that, conspiracy theories aside, this was most likely a personal dispute.

Love the way you never actual post to me btw, but repeatedly address me. It's very brave of you to assult me behind my back.

. "According to preliminary reports, the body showed no visible wounds,"

Yet the apartment was spattered with blood.

It must have been those invisible wounds that were bleeding.

Recently, you're saying?

If 7 months ago means "recently" to you, then I can't help it (as it happened on July 31, 2005).

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1454618/posts

Since that time Polish police have caught and detained the perpetrator - an ordinary street thug.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1544060/posts

FYI - right after that incident had happened in Warsaw - 4 Poles were beaten up in Moscow (3 employees of Polish embassy and 1 journalist) - all of them in the same manner and circumstances by "unknown perpetrators"

And guess what? The perpetrators still remain "unknown".

As to attacking you behind your back - I just don't want to respond to your posts and I don't want you to post anything to me (as I consider such a "discussion" as being below my dignity).

This is the exception, as I could let you go with another lie about Poland and Poles.
