That author assumes one thing that I don't - that there must be something wrong with America. The things this guy lists as problems are our culture. He is a prime candidate for moving to Europe. They aren't bothered by energy usage or keeping up on current events or data or pesky things like an unemployment rate. While we are fighting two wars simultaneously, rescuing millions from the tsunami, rescuing IRANIANS from earthquakes, delivering food and FIREWOOD to Afghanis who are freezing to death in the mountains, recovering from our own natural disasters, and now saving the Philipinos, we manage to keep our unemployment rate under 5% and our economy growing at at 4% clip.

He is a jerk, and a long-winded boring jerk to boot. I tried to read it kept falling asleep and hitting my head on the keyboard.

I think it's worse than that! Part of being a human is to be preoccupied or addicted to something, anything. Without it, We would simply go insane.
