Some Americans are addicted to exaggeratin, hyperbole, crying wolf, labeling everything a crisis and other annoying addictions. And that applies to all sides of many arguments.
There are problems with energy, the environment, immigration, and many other pet bugaboos of the emotional attention seeking panicstricken.
But guess what. The energy problem is a problem; But not a crisis.
Even the most ardent believer in global warming admits that it will be centuries before the polar ice caps melt and make the Hollyweird movie come true.
Immigrants are not the four horsemen of the apocalypse, nor the anti-Christ.
Get a grip. Problems are best solved when they are faced realistically and truthfully. Our experience has been that when we escalate a problem to a "war on poverty" or "war on whatever" we only make the problem worse.
Save the extreme talk for the modern Hitlers and Stalins. Don't waste it on some Guatemalan cleaning my office as I type this.
