Hackett was very weak on boring local issues like taxation, energy. Saw a good article contrasting his campaign style with his opponents. He couldn't relate to his audience [voters] other than to say "I hate Bush"

Just because I DUFUed this Kos thread doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out for yourselves since it has grown to over 216 posts on that thread. I DUFUed it when it was still under 40.

This would have been the equivilant of the R's forcing Tom Coburn out of the race in Oaklahoma because he wasn't their choice. They made it clear that it wasn't their choice, but they didn't sink him, and they accepted it when he won. Kind of like the Republican Party finally getting behind Katherine Harris in her Florida Senate run?

QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, there seems to be some latter day question about how to correctly pronounce your last name. How do you pronounce it? How do you want us to pronounce it?
CHENEY: How do I pronounce my last night and how do I want you to pronounce it? Well, the family's always said Cheney with an "e'' and that was especially true West growing up. I find, when I came East, that the tendency was to say Cheney with an "a''. I'll respond to either. It really doesn't matter.
QUESTION: Cheney with an "a''?
CHENEY: Cheney is fine, but, you know, it's close enough. If you guys get that I right, I'll be happy.

Tweety was determined to make the Dems look bad and eventually got Hackett to accuse Brown of swiftboating him. . . . So that's Chris Matthews's fault?! That Hackett can't control his own mouth??? "Tweety made me do it! BAD Tweety!"

Yes, Hackett did come off as a loon (a clip was played of Hackett accusing Bush of being a coke addict) but he has served a GREAT purpose by guaranteeing that the Ohio senate seat remains in Republican hands. Hackett has also sowed so much dissension that it might even prove costly in other senate and congressional races. Good point, thanks.

The Kosby Kidz aren't quite as insane as the DUmmies. At least the Kosites admit that the Dems have problems.
