Sorry Democrats, your latest attempt to lynch the Bush Administration fell short, again. In the classic style of todays left wing attack machine, they overreached and the media got left with their pants down. How embarrassing it must have been to find out that Dick Cheney took the correct steps to make sure his friend received the proper medical care, the police were notified, and that the supposed cover up amounted to the local paper scooping the White House Press Corp.
It is a case of reporters who have become accustomed to having the news spoon fed to them. Where was the on the scene reporting by the media? They have become lazy and sit around the White House waiting for the latest briefing to the press corp. Then when they do not get the story first, the indignant response and allegations of cover up exposed their ugly agenda for the umpteenth time.
The icing on the cake was the statements made by the victim, 78 year old Austin attorney Harry Whittington, who spoke in front of a Corpus Christi hospital Friday:
"This past weekend encompassed all of us in a cloud of misfortune and a sadness that is not easy to explain, especially to those who are not familiar with the great sport of quail hunting"
. . .
"We all assume certain risks in whatever we do ... accidents do and will happen and that's what happened."
. . .
"My family and I are deeply sorry for all Vice President Cheney and his family had to deal with this week. ...We hope he will continue to come to Texas and seek the relaxation he deserves."
This final statement says it all. When he refers to all that the VP and his family had to deal with, he was not speaking of his recovery from the accident. The Media assault on the Vice President was at scandalous levels and put him and his family through the proverbial meat grinder. When will the media apologize for their behavior in this matter? My guess is when _ _ _ _ freezes over.
The libs have gone insane, especially since Alito was confirmed.
I like David Gregory's response to this:
(Yet the debate playing out in the blogosphere, cable airwaves and on talk radio pits the Vice President against an allegedly left-wing, overly cynical, prissy White House press corps in a tizzy because it wasn't the first to know and angry because it hates the President and Vice President anyway. This is nonsense. . .

He is so full of himself that his self described "Prissy" attitude is accurate.
McClellan's point was not undercut, since McClellan specifically told Gregory that the cameras were off.
"Hold on," McClellan interrupted, pointing out that "the cameras aren't on right now. You can do this later."
Sheesh!! Gregory can't even report correctly about events that take place when he is present.
No wonder that Cheney didn't trust the MSM to get the shooting story straight.
The Bush administration knows that the MSM is the enemy within. So do more and more Americans.
Check this one out - Our Angry Left "Yes, with all this moral indignation pouring forth from the Democratic elders, how long will it be before their listeners take to the streets? Already the Internet resounds with the young furiosos' enraged responses. Can it be long before they march? And when they do they will be more dangerous than any Arab street demonstration, for America's Angry Left includes its womenfolk. Boy, are they angry."
