We Support Denmark!

It was suggested on an earlier thread today that we start a "We Buy Danish" project of sorts. Freeper MarMema was going to start it, but she's watching the superbowl and I've got time at the moment so I'm going to kick this off.

The idea is that you go buy a Danish product and take a photo of yourself enjoying your Danish product so we can keep them on a gallery similar to that of the "We're Not Sorry" theme of the 2004 presidential elections. I've got bandwidth and space and so I'm going to host the photos.

In fact, we've already posted the first photo and statement of support to Denmark with respect to their recent troubles involving a comic strip (of all things!).

If you (or anybody you know) would like photos and statements in support of Denmark posted to the site, please send them to -

webuydanish@webuydanish.rc4systems.net

The URL for the site is at - http://www.gallery.rc4systems.net/webuydanish

Please make a best effort to keep gross profanity out of statements of support, but any and all sorts of weapons in the photos are not only permitted, but encourged. :-)

"But it would suffice to just take a photo of what you bought."

OK, fair enough. I'll run it past hubby again. Maybe I'll get a few bloody marys in him, and hey, you never know!

The product really comes in a very appealing, quite modern, high tech looking bottle. It really is like a thermos. Gotta love those Scandos, they were modern and high tech before anyone else.

Yep...since we started with our two of the Havarti Danish cheese...and my buddy Subatomicdust sent a couple...and an anonymous Israeli, and then Fallujah-nuker (with the Lurpak butter), and Katnip bought the nice glass! I hope I run out of storage space and bandwidth. That would suit me just fine! :-)

Actually, I'm not capped by bandwidth OR storage space, and if things get tight here, I've got two other friends who will help with bandwidth and server space.

I'm signing off for the evening. Ya'll have a GREAT evening. :-)

Thank you SO much! Just reading your post made this worthwhile. It means a lot when someone who is directly affected by these issues speaks up. Much like when a member of our military comes forward and thanks US for supporting them.

Your Queen Margrethe II sounds absolutely fierce and loyal to her country. A real woman of conviction. It was wonderful to hear her speak in defense of her country against these barbaric monsters. That first image you linked was exactly correct:

You might get a kick out of this: from an article I posted by Michelle Malkin "Don't Forget: Buy Danish!" I went shopping and came back to report what I proudly bought to support your country:

I found (all products of Denmark!):

Havarti Cheese - 1 lb.
Blue cheese - 1 wedge
Fontina cheese wedge
Knorr pesto seasoning packets
Knorr spinach mix (florentine)/soup box
FRIS Vodka (neat bottle!)
(*I'm suspicious that Knorr products are not from Denmark, as some blogs have claimed... do you know?*)

It's quite rewarding to buy products in support of something, rather than boycotting products.

And you never have to apologize for your "British" 'round these parts! The Brits are our allies as well in this war :-).

Welcome to Free Republic, and please visit as you can! It's fascinating to hear a first-person perspective on this, like your notations about the newspaper journalists. That was great!

I'll be sending you a pic in the next day or so of our littlest FReeperette with our selection of Danish cheese and products we bought. (Not the FRIS vodka, however. That would be SO wrong.! ) ;)

Heh, Knorr is actually a German company :) own by "Unilever" which is a Dutch-British company...

Heh, but they've got some factories in Denmark as well ;)

If you wanna go for the REAL DANISH DEAL, go for Bang & Olufsen: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/

You don't get any more stylish than that ;)

There are a lot of B&O flagship stores in the US! If you click on "SHOP" and choose "North America" and "United States" you can see a list of American cities in which you can get B&O!

Go for it mates!

You can furthermore go for some Danish design, if you like designer-clothing.

http://www.day.dk/ "Day Birger et Mikkelsen"
as well as
http://www.bruunsbazaar.com "Bruuns Bazaar"

If I can think of more Danish products I'll give you a shout.

And thanks again for the fantastic support we really need these days.

Better yet, go out and buy a Danish Flag and fly it in support of Denmark - a little country who helped us in Iraq and is under attack by an international cabal of loons.

Moohamud was a pedofile, and allah is a lie. If i was clever enough to know how to come up with a picture of moohamud kneeling at the foot of the cross, repenting, and a caption underneath it saying, "every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Christ is Lord", i think the cartoon would go around the world....but then, i'm sure it's already been drawn up, although i've not seen it yet, so i don't know. But, alas, i am not a cartoonist, neither do i have the software or the immediate know how to come up with it.

I found some graphics via Google which could have been used for a basis of this scene, but it takes me SOOO long to get things correct with the editing software that I use. If you come across some graphics though that you think will work, send them to me, and we'll turn it over to BtheD. He's done some QUITE impressive work lately!

If they're clamoring for "death to the infidels" on account of these stupid cartoons, they will go into a full blown frenzy at moohamud kneeling at the foot of the cross repenting.

You know what though? It's a good picture. Think about it. One graphic could be him willfully kneeling at the foot of the cross, with Yeshua looking down on him. The other could be him FORCED to his knees at the approach of Yeshua on the white horse!...clothed in purple and blue!

The former is preferable, but the latter is a sobering thought.

So help me! I'm-a-gonna find me some Carlsberg SOON! I think I can get it at the froo-froo food store not far from where I work during the week. This Friday, I'm going to stop there on the way home and HOPEFULLY, they'll have it. Either way, I know where to find Havarti cheese and that stuff is yummy scrummy with crackers and any decent beer or wine! :-)

I really want to find Danish ham since the pedophile Mo-ham-head (pigs be upon him) has forbidden it!

DAK bacon is also a good choice.
